Amelia is much like an onion. She's made up of many, many layers and each layer has shaped her personality to what it is today. She's complicated and she can't really be put into a compartmentalized box of what a vampire should be. She's different even though she's still a vampire. Yes, she has fangs. Yes, she has to drink blood to survive. But there was so much more to Amelia than meets the eye. The way she treats those that feed her, the way she loves, and the way she lives is all different and unique. Amelia is sweet and kind. She cherishes life even though many consider her dead. She can't remember the last time she was loved by a man or the last time she drank from a live vein. It's these little oddities that make her unique. But most didn't care about the layers that make up Amelia. Most just cared that she was a blood sucking killer and she didn't deserve to live.

But thankfully for Amelia, Troy seemed genuinely interested in talking to her, even if it was only to pass the time away. He was probably here for some reason that she could only fantasize about. Probably something top secret. Why else would someone with such sweet smelling blood walk into a bar full of individuals who probably had a sweet tooth? No matter what his reason, Amelia was glad that she met him. He was fun to talk to, charming, and great to look at. What could she complain about?

But now is not the time for reminiscing. There are dark hunters here in the bar and they are out for blood. If Amelia has any plans to get out of here alive, she needed to act quickly. So she takes Troy's hand and hopes that he has some kind of plan. He leads her through the crowd towards the back. She was already going to head for the back door, but she figures she will let him be her knight in shining armor. After all, a woman does like to be taken care of every now and then.

As they push out the door and step into the alley, Amelia can hear the hunters call to one another, informing them that there are a few who have made it out the back. She knows in the pit of her stomach that they are now after she and Troy. They wanted blood...and they wanted her blood more than those rushing them. Amelia, being new in town, has no idea where to go from here that's safe. She knows she can't go back to her house because they will follow her. She doesn't know where else to go. Luckily, it seemed like Troy knew his way around. Now she really had no choice but to trust him. He was the only one who could get her out of this pickle alive.

Her grip on his hand tightens in fear as she follows him through the alley. He assures her that he will get her out safe and she nods. She has no choice but to hang onto his every word. And just when she thought that she would eventually get out of this alive, his words jarred her thoughts back to reality. The words were not at all encouraging when he realizes that they are at a dead end. Crap. She was going to die here in the alley way. She sighs at first, but then gasps in horror as the dark hunters come from around the corner. There is a crossbow pointed directly at her heart. She takes a step back instinctively as Troy steps in front of her, pulling her against his chest and telling her to close her eyes if needed. She looked up at him with fear as she clings to his chest for dear life. She can't help but notice the firmness of his chest. He really was a good looking man. If she wasn't about to die, she might comment about how he's been working out. But now is not the time.

Wings sprout from his back and she grins. A fairy. How convenient. As they began to rise, Amelia makes sure to hold tightly to him, not wanting to fall. She focuses on her breathing, her eyes watching the distance between the herself and the ground increasing. She isn't scared of heights. However, she is scared of the dark hunters that are now directly below them. One raises his crossbow and fires. Amelia can feel the arrow pierce through the flesh of her leg. She emits a scream as her flesh begins to burn. She was going to die of blood poising after all of this. What a terrible way to go.
