Sebastian Ellingtonget close enough to have fun
but not enough to get attached

There was no denying the decided luxury of Rowena's hotel, nor the fashion in which that old aged decorum so called to his soul, reminding of years that, though he had moved on from, he still found himself wistfully dreaming of. Those sweet years in which he had been alive - and yet, they had faded into nothing more then some sort of happy dream for the vampire. The feeling of sun on his skin, of dancing away nights and days with little care, it had been a glorious ten years he'd spent at William's side and yet they were all too fleeting to the nearly two hundred that had expanded after them. Still the vampire found himself shaking his head ever so slightly in agreement to his companion's sentiment. "No," He uttered with some measure of regret. "They are hole in the walls and shady motels. Nothing the likes of hers." After all, Sebastian was all too aware of what sort of dodgy inns lined the streets of Sacrosanct. He had spent a night within most of them at one point or another with men and women who didn't want to take him home lest their significant other find out of their activities. Either way, their facilities had been decidedly lackluster for the well to do vampire.

Still, that art of flittering from one city to the next was one in which Sebastian was well acquainted. He himself had followed a similar routine though it was not for some effort to so conceal himself from some hooded figure chasing him down. He supposed, though, that perhaps there was always a hooded figure chasing him down in some regards simply because of what it was but even he was not egotistical enough to compare it to whatever afflicted his hunter companion. There was a reason William was running and it made the vampire surprisingly dissatisfied to even consider that his friend might come to some harm because he stayed here due to him. His aquamarine gaze slowly shifted to his companion at the sound of his name, that look of concern clear across the man's features and yet, he was so attentively steadfast upon those words offered to him. The idea that Sebastian himself so managed to symbolize home for William when he was hardly even sure where he was going to stay the following night brought a warm simper upon the vampire's features, his head nodding firmly as he too gave in to the man's insistence that he'd stay here with him. "I might have an idea then - for your conundrum of tomorrow evening." He uttered, that nearly mischievous look once again crossing his features.

And yet, whatever notion so toyed with his mind hardly held a candle to the one that so crossed his best friends thoughts. Blood was, as it was for all vampires, a decided weakness for him. It unraveled that composure he strove to uphold, bringing out desires within the man that were certainly more carnal and feral. The sheer smell of it -- oh god! He found himself reaching out for that wrist, his tongue running along the wound as he so refrained himself from taking that delicious liquid that so ran through William's veins. It was the first taste he'd ever had of hunter. It was a magic that was as old as time itself, pure and untainted like communion wine, it was forbidden for his kind to feast upon them and yet - why then did they taste so damn good? A soft breath left his lips as he exhaled, forcing himself to pull away from that offered arm. His crystalline gaze turned back towards his companion, his eyes softening ever so slightly as he offered a simple promise. His fingertips reached towards William's neck, the man entirely comfortable with touching his companion just so. After all, a very long time ago, had he not touched William in far more intimate fashions then this? It was that certainty which so saw his fingertips brush lower down the hunter's torso and indeed to more sensitive areas, a small simper crossing his face at those husky words he was so offered. And yet, for all that toying and teasing, even Sebastian found those boundaries he'd once held with William so sharply in place.

He stepped away from his companion towards the edge of the alleyway, his head motioning back towards the man to follow him. What he didn't anticipate, however, was the way in which William's fingertips so encircled his own wrist, pulling him backwards. Sebastian turned, an inquisitive look given towards his companion as the Duke's hand so fell upon his hip, the man's fingertips suddenly cupping his cheek in a gesture that was far more affectionate than the William he knew had ever afforded him. His companion had been the epitome of prim and proper when it came to such barriers between their genders. It was Sebastian himself that had danced that line, time and time again. This, this touch, was decidedly out of character and yet, the vampire hardly complained. Instead, his features warmed in a sweet simper, his lips parting to respond only to find, quite suddenly, William's own mouth pressing upon his in an ardent kiss. For a singular moment, Sebastian found himself entirely still, his crystalline gaze widening ever so slightly in shock.

William tasted exactly like he had remembered, all those years ago against the sofa in his family's living room. He had a reason then, to so press his lips against the Duke's in an effort to show him how to so kiss the Countessa he had his eye on. But now, now there were no women to woo and no etiquette to say no and in that moment, Sebastian found himself melting into that kiss, his eyelashes fluttered shut as William pulled him closer. Just one - he promised himself just one and slowly, his hand rose to the back of William's neck, entangling his fingers in the Duke's long brunette locks if only to deepen that kiss ever so slightly. Just one. Slowly, Sebastian pulled away from his companion, his crystalline blue eyes so staring into those chocolate brown in front of him before, his gaze fluttered to the ground with a soft sigh. The vampire's gaze paused, glancing slightly to the side as he so stared at that which he alone could see. It was pale in color, more like a soft pink then the ruby hue that so existed between himself and Dorian. It was as if it belonged to the man he had once been - his thread, his soulmate of when he had been alive. And now, it was but a ghost of what it surely must have been when they had so carelessly roamed the streets of England.

He had been aware, to some extent, the feelings the Duke had carried for him all those years ago. It was nothing more than a crush, he was assured, but now, now he knew it was something else entirely. He hated knowing the words that would leave his lips would destroy his friend, and yet, likewise, this thing he'd found with Dorian too demanded he so meticulously protect that which he had only just begun to foster. Boyfriend consort. He had made a promise, hadn't he? "William I..." His features shifted in a noticeable frown as the vampire so struggled to find the words, the feelings he so wished to convey. "I..can't. I made a promise to another." He fully expected that this simple admittance might drive a wedge between himself and his childhood friend. Maybe this was the one thing that would make William take back that assurance he had just moments ago. "I want to, though." He offered as a way of assurance, a small glimpse into those thoughts that so plagued him. "I guess that's not surprising though, right? But I...I was thinking...that maybe you could....come home with me? I mean, if you have no place to go anyways. I have an extra room and you could stay for as long as you want, forever, if you wanted to." Those words that had started out slow and hesitant became a nearly jumbled and hurried mess by the end of it. Somehow, William had a way of too unraveling the man that was so often the epitome of poise - if only because the thought of loosing William made his heart feel as if it was being pulled from his very chest.
