Many such places are used to the sometimes peculiar requests of the otherworldly but here there is little that money cannot buy - whether it happens to be illegal or merely involves looking the other way. Vampires and Dark Hunters are often found upon these Northern streets, their long lives often contributing to their sizable wealth which allows them the luxuries that the North provides.

It was true, Amelia wasn't used to be paid attention to in the manner that Troy was offering. She usually just did things herself. She didn't have many gentleman friends to open the door for her, kiss her hand, or look out for her safety. It was one of the walls Amelia had set up for a reason. She didn't want to be hurt. Her life would always be a long one and she didn't want to see herself get hurt over and over again. She had been hurt too many times in her young life and it was because of this that Amelia had determined not put herself into a similar situation again, no matter how much she might like the attention she was receiving.

Once inside the house, Amelia sits down slowly on the settee, not wanting to hurt her leg more than necessary. She knew she would be sore for several days, so she had already mentally created a list of things she needed to do in order to help her heal. She would have to go to her donor wing and see if there was a willing volunteer who might be able to eat foods rich in healing properties and then donate to her. It wouldn't' hurt to try and enhance the blood she knew she would be taking in this week. Miley would probably be quick to donate. She had always been willing.

Eyes watch as Troy grabs his whiskey from Mr. Milton and returns to sit next to her. Amelia is careful not to make a mess with her beverage. It was rude. In fact, Amelia wasn't a big fan of feeding in front of non-vampires. However, in this instance, Amelia needed to start the healing process. She was weak and needed strength. Unfortunately, blood was the only thing that could really do that for her. So she tried to be discreet out of respect for Troy.

She tries to see how she might can repay him for his kindness, but he dodges the question like a humble person. She shakes her head. "No, I insist. You have been carrying around that stake all night and you've yet to use it. Instead you chose to help me. Why? I can never fathom. I'm good at reading people, remember...and I know you aren't fond of my kind. But you helped me anyway, and that deserves a large token of my gratitude. So if you won't accept anything monetary wise, please, at least let me treat you to dinner once I'm feeling up to it. Perhaps next week?" Yes, she was being rather forward, but she felt like he deserved something...anything. She owed him her life and it was so frustrating to her that he wouldn't accept any form of thanks.
