Just another Night to Kill

I can definitely agree that every species has their light and their dark. I've met some pretty evil fairies in my day so I'm not going to say my species is perfect. I know that's nowhere near the case. Maybe I've just never given a vampire the chance to be anything but evil around me but what can I say? Before Amelia of course, the only good vampire was a dead vampire. I didn't care about getting to know them.

She seems almost surprised that I would tell her to be careful. I guess she's still mistrusting of me but I should have proved something when I chose to take her to the witch for healing instead of leaving her wounded in the alley. I wouldn't have given away my secret for just anyone, you know. Being a fairy is a danger in itself in this town but a fairy with wings is considered a rare prize. Some hunters like to collect them. Not even the council knows that I have the gift of flight.

I smirk when she sounds disappointed about me not always being there. "Well tonight you should have no fear of losing me. A woman dressed like that should always be escorted." I nudge toward her dress with twinkling look.

We banter back and forth in innocent flirtation and it's a fun time. She admits that it's been a long time since she had reason to look like this and I give her a softer more sincere smile for a moment. "Then I am honored that you chose me to share this with. I could see where ti could be chaos for the world if it were to see such beauty on a daily basis. You were probably wise to keep all that covered up." I give a playful wink at the end and even chuckle lightly.

As we pull up, she tries to reassure me, telling me that she trusts the valets. She must be able to sense my growing anxiety about parting with my car. I usually don't let anyone drive my car. Not even my brother got that luxury. As I speak to the valet, I feel her hand suddenly on my thigh and hear her say my name softly as if trying to make me calm down. She might think I'm being harsh to the man but this car means the world to me. It was my dad's and I've had to restore it ten times over. In my line of work, it's not easy to keep a car un-scathed.

I offer no apologies for my behavior though. Of course I shouldn't expect her to understand how much that car means to me and why I'm so stingy with it, especially without explaining but since I can't do that, at least not tonight, she'll just have to think I'm an ass when it comes to my car.

She takes my arm and says that she's ready and we walk up to the doors. As we walk inside, I take a look around, one brow rising. "Wow, this place is something, Amelia. You must have friends in high places." The tables are packed though and I look around then back at Amelia. "I don't think they have room though, darling." The hostess waves us on though so I follow her, both brows rising in surprise when we walk into a private suite. I can't help but chuckle a little as I pull out her chair for her to sit before I take my own seat. "Romantic candle and everything. Are you planning on proposing tonight, Amelia? The suspense is killing me." I offer her a teasing grin, hoping to keep the mood light.

I suddenly hear piano music and look over, seeing the guy playing and I smile, listening for a moment. Soon there's a whole band playing and I will admit, they really know what they're doing. Amelia seems pretty comfortable here, looking through the menu like she's well versed in everything on it. Only when I open my own menu, do I note that it's all human food. I scowl. "Don't they have something more to your taste?" I ask her softly, knowing she'll get what I mean. They must serve some kind of vampire dish for her if she frequents here at all.

I smile when she says that dinner is on her tonight. "I'm only agreeing to that because you made me. But you do have to drink some wine with me, at least." I smirk and look through the menu before looking up at the waiter. "A bottle of your oldest red wine, please." That should be a good start.
