Cause i've been dancing with shadows
waiting till the morning after

She was an intriguing flower, of that even Sebastian could not deny, even if his own instincts made a point to so create enough sense of unease in her presence to coax the Englishman into what little amount of caution he might have held. The vampire could tell, after centuries of so fluttering through social circles of mortal and supernatural alike, those souls whom were perilous by nature. It was the instincts of a predator to so detect another amongst the throng of lambs that surrounded the pair. Still, despite the certainty, he still found himself lingering, deftly avoiding her inquiries with a certain vagueness whilst, all the while, returning that same directness she had regarded him. It was amusing, to say the least, when the tables did so turn and the ivory haired maiden in front of him was left to consider her own words with the same particular care. Still, his head tilted to the side ever so slightly at the notion that this was an escape from her usual line of work. It was hardly abnormal, alcohol abound where escapism was wanted and in that she was hardly unique. No, what intrigued the man was the work she so referred to. It was that singular thing he was certain would be far more telling of the woman in front of him than any other syllable of their conversation to date.

"A night off from?" He prompted with care and yet his body language did little more than exude a simple interest in her alone. Did it truly matter to him what she did? No, of course not, it was simply another measure of ammunition to utilize to get what he so desired to achieved. Her preference for bourbon, however, brought a small twitch of the corners of his mouth, his head bobbing ever so slightly in agreement. Frankly, he anticipated nothing less from Ceara. The bar was always stocked with top shelf liquors - the likes of which were often lacking in lower class parts of the city. Unfortunately, his efforts to make conversation with her were thwarted, her voice cut off completely as something of far greater interest so attracted her gaze. His lips pressed together in a subtle glance of discontent before his own head turned to observe with mute disinterest as the bar was so invaded by three ominous figures. His own eyebrows furrowed at their presence, his instincts nearly instantly informing him that they were scarcely of mortal origins. It was hardly surprising really, considering the power they so seemed to wield so openly.

Regardless of his fellow patrons so crumpling to the floor, Sebastian hardly seemed willing to involve himself in whatever affairs it was that so coaxed them here in the first place. The vampire simply watched them with an air of cautiousness as the men prowled towards the bar. It was the brush of clothing that caused his attention to turn from the men to the woman in front of him. Usually, this would have been an excellent chance to so clench the deal, to reassure her he would protect her and to whisk her away from this place to the safety of some bedroom somewhere. Unfortunately, she hardly seemed the damsel in distress that he so often preyed on. Rather, he watched as she leaned closer into him and yet, her gaze seemed wholly settled past him and, entirely behind him. A girl who liked danger was it? Well, there was no bigger danger then to so play with the undead now was there?

"Know them?" He inquired softly, his words meant for her ears alone and yet, he hardly anticipated the way the man came to their side nor the way that he had so threatened the bartender. A small frown crossed his lips, entirely aware of the tenseness within the air that surrounded them. That abrupt balling of the cloaked man's fist as he grabbed the bartender saw Sebastian step back ever so slightly as Vhalla slipped into place her hand on the man's arm. The stranger regarded her with a measure of surprise though that unexpected look quickly turned into a snide grin. "You want to join in on the fun too, bitch?" He hissed, his companion stepped up to Vhalla's side, interjecting as he reached out to grab her. "Oh, we'll enjoy you later." The second man stated, his intent quite clear within his words. The second cloaked figure pulling her with a force, pulling a dagger from under his cloak with the clear intention of threatening her into stillness for their use and yet, Sebastian himself hesitated ever so slightly. Usually he avoided such violence, often giving it a wide berth and the woman herself seemed capable enough. Still, she had been his pray and he hated to see a scratch on her when he still had wanted to enjoy her. He lingered on the edge of joining on this frey and remaining exactly where he was.
