Ashes to Ashes

The fact that Anna could hold amusement in a single activity for as long as she did was a blessing in of itself. In such cramped quarters with no other way for the child to stretch her legs it was amazing that the predator within was quieted. Her momentarily lapse with the stewardess thankfully was the only moment which truly required Sebastian to stretch the limits of his coercive power, not just with the pheromones but with his reasoning with her. Luckily Anna did eventually grow tired before she grew hungry once more, ceasing her play to wander back over to where Sebastian had resettled himself. Her question of how much longer being met with a less than pleasing answer had the child vampire sighing in a soft whine. She was simply tired for even though she couldn't see the sun that beat down on the metal tube, the vampire could feel it in her very bones and being up past sunrise was sorely against their nature.

Anna-Marie did the only thing she could bring herself to do. The exhaustion from playing and the demand from the sun had the girl climb up into the seat beside Sebastian and curl up with her head on his thigh. Whether her willingly curling up against him was an effect of his pheromone power or that thin line that connected them as childe and maker was hard to tell. Either way Anna blissfully fell asleep for the remainder of the flight, not even stirring during the shuddering of the plane as they descended from above the clouds to the asphalt of the runway. If any other besides another vampire had looked upon her they would have thought the child truly dead at her complete stillness. There was no help from Anna in her quite literal dead weight as Sebastian plucked her from the seat and made their way to the car which awaited them.

The small vampire merely shifted easily when placed in the car back to leaning against Sebastian. Those icy blue eyes didn't flutter open until they pulled up to a hotel and she heard an unfamiliar male's voice announce their arrival to the upscale hotel. The first thing that flared in her was her instinct to pounce on the male, her hunger there but luckily easily stilled as sleep was still slowing her mind and reflexes. Anna glanced out the window to the front door of the hotel seeing the polished interior where bodies milled about. The darkened windows no longer needed beneath the large concrete awning that covered the circular drop-off at the front doors to the hotel. "Where are we?" Anna questioned sluggishly, glancing from the hotel, to the man, to Sebastian. This did not look like a toy store. "You said you were getting me a present." Distrust began to seep within her tone and reflected easily in her gaze at Sebastian.
