Amelia wasn't asking for a long-term commitment from him. She just wanted her itch scratched. If he scratched that itch more than once, then fine by her. She didn't care if he was secretly in love with someone else. He had every right to love who he wanted. So long as he wasn't currently in a relationship, then she was fine. After all, Amelia was a classy woman â€" she didn't do the cheating thing. It cross boundaries that she wasn't comfortable crossing. But based on how Troy was accepting her advances, she had to believe that he was available to have a little fun tonight.

She truly had wanted this night to be special in a sense. He had saved a complete stranger...a vampire stranger...with no request for repayment. He had done so for whatever reason and she had to thank him for that. If this was going to be the last time she saw him, she wanted him to remember how much she appreciated his kindness. His words, however, caused her to bust out laughing. She was thankful she hadn't taken a sip of wine because it would have been spewed across the table. "I can assure you, that card is long gone, never to be seen again." She was hundreds of years old. Her virginity had been taken some time ago, well before she had ever been turned. But she understood his attempt to make a point. "I don't know if we will continue to see each other on any level after this, so I wanted to make sure you were properly thanked." A cheeseburger just didn't say "thank you" like a romantic five-course meal did.

They spoke about a hypothetical proposal and when he spoke about diamonds, she sighed and shook her head. "Sorry, you get the Walmart special. I spent all my money on dinner." Her voice was playful and completely joking. She supposed if she every thought about marrying someone, then she would probably spend more money on a fancy wedding band than she did on her house. That was just how Amelia did things.

The waiter comes and Amelia can't help but snicker at his attempt to order. She orders the finest cut of steak, rare of course. He leaves to put their order in and she grabs the glass of wine from Troy. She holds her glass out to him to toast. "How about for saving my life...and giving me a second chance not only in life, but a chance to show you that we aren't all bad." She waits until she hears the clink of glasses before she takes a sip of her wine. It was delicious wine.

Soon enough, their food arrives and Amelia nearly scarfs it down. However, she's a lady as she eats, cutting it into smaller pieces. It's been awhile since she's eaten real food. She enjoys it's taste, but there's nothing better than steak-flavored blood. But she says nothing. Finishing up her meal, she places her silverware on her plate before dabbing the napkin at the corner of her lips. "What did you think of the meal? Still wishing for a cheeseburger?"
