Anacosta Heights

Situated above the daily life of the city, Anacosta Heights is a tucked away suburb featuring extravagant neo-gothic inspired mansions. The inhabitants of this neighborhood often show their overwhelming wealth with sports cars lining their long, circular driveways, large pools, and manicured gardens. The homeowners of Anacosta Heights treasure their privacy as seen by the high iron gates to the security personnel present at every entrance.

Dupont Circle

Dupont Circle is a small suburban neighborhood settled within the serene portion of the southern portion of town. These four-bedroom, single-family homes feature back yards, porches, garages, and far more breathing space then the Village offers. This neighborhood often is more family orientated and even has organized events for children and the neighborhood as a whole.

Hawethorn Village

Settled in the middle of downtown, Hawthorn Village consists of several victorian inspired row houses just off the main street. Due to it's convenience to just about everything, the village can be a tad expensive to live within. However, the residents of this neighborhood often have two to three-story townhouses, often with a one to two-car garage. Many of the houses feature bay windows and/or rooftop terraces with a small fenced-in 'yard'.

River Dale

River Dale primarily consists of apartments that, despite their age and industrial appearing interior, still hold to the Victorian history that permeates the town. These apartments are often the cheapest option and sport scuffed, older wooden floors, open floor plans, visible beams, and the occasional brick wall.

death incarnate & night triumphant

It had been several days since he had last seen Lani and their last meeting at her apartment had been... short to say the least. Andras had threatened to kill her cat and he might have if he hadn't excused himself from her home. And then, not just a few days later, he had run into her at Dorian's estate, a rather brief and interesting encounter though he didn't get to speak with her more about the questions that she had. The Fae had taken it upon himself to end up outside of her apartment building tonight. He knew she had far more questions and as their last meeting had ended rather abruptly, he felt inclined to offer her more information.

Still, as Andras hesitates outside, his dark hazel eyes are drawn to her vehicle parked on the side of the street. Brows furrowing, he tilts his head back to search for a light in her apartment and yet he finds none. He might have thought her asleep, though her scent was several hours old and it did not lead from her apartment to her car, but from her apartment towards downtown. Sighing heavily, he runs a hand through his hair, tussling the normally well tamed locks on his head. Andras wasn't surprised. Not in the least. Perhaps he should put a tracker on the damn girl.

Yet, it was Halloween. He had no need to worry about her. He imagined she went out for a good time. At least, that's what Andras was trying to convince himself of. Another sigh tears from his lips as she rolls the tension in his shoulders, his head leaning side to side as if that truly would relieve the stress that so plagued him and settled in his neck. Slipping his hands casually into his black slacks, he continues down the empty alleyway, the sounds of drunken laughter echoing farther down the road. And that's when he felt it.

A piercing sensation in his neck has him stumbling against the wall, a hand coming up to slap over his nape. Eyes widening in astonishment, Andras whirls around in search of his attacker and yet there was no one. Nothing. Not even a trace. Confusion fills his features until that piercing sensation hits him again and it takes him only a moment longer to realize that it wasn't his pain he was feeling, it was someone else's. Lowering his hand, Andras goes utterly still, darkness and death swirling in his hazel eyes as he realizes just what was happening. "Lani," her name was a whispered breath upon his lips as his wings tear from his back, his jacket and shirt entirely destroyed as he flares his wings.

Ripping the rest of his shirt from his chest, the cool air kisses his bare skin though he barely notices the coldness before he launches himself into the sky, nothing but a dark blur as he rockets across the city searching. There is panic that so coats his mind as he casts out his senses, searching for the human girl, 'where are you where are you where are you,' those words were as constant as his thundering heart until he caught a faint whiff of blood. Lani's blood. Eyes frantically searching through the darkness, until he catches sight of those blonde locks in an abandoned alleyway.

Rage surges through his body as he tilts his wings and dives towards the ground, "LANI," he bellows her name, just as he slams into the ground in front of her, the earth shaking at his impact. It gave her attacker enough of a scare that he releases his hold on her long enough for Andras to dart in between them, pushing Lani out of harm's way as he propels himself forward. Bone crushing hands lock on the vampire's shoulders as Andras shoves him hard enough against the wall, hard enough to crack the bricks at the attacker's back. Teeth bared menacingly, his face is contorted in such fury that the calm and collected faerie from the apartment is long gone. "She's mine and you will not touch her," Andras snarls at the undead man just as his hand darts forward with such force it sinks into the vampire's chest.

Grasping the organ, he so sought after, he tears the lifeless heart from its chest, blood splattering across his sun-tanned skin as the creature slumps to the ground, truly dead. Letting that organ drop from his hand, he turns towards Lani on the ground and takes the several steps towards her to close the gap. Kneeling before her, that rage flickers in his eyes still, though he is gentle when he reaches for the woman. Stretching out that blood drenched hand of his, he almost brushes away the hair from her neck before he pulls his hand back and dropping it to his side. "Are you okay?" Concern is bright in his eyes though a bit of wariness lingers there, unsure if he had finally frightened the woman off.
