Anacosta Heights

Hawethorn Village

Anacosta Heights

Situated above the daily life of the city, Anacosta Heights is a tucked away suburb featuring extravagant neo-gothic inspired mansions. The inhabitants of this neighborhood often show their overwhelming wealth with sports cars lining their long, circular driveways, large pools, and manicured gardens. The homeowners of Anacosta Heights treasure their privacy as seen by the high iron gates to the security personnel present at every entrance.

Dupont Circle

Dupont Circle is a small suburban neighborhood settled within the serene portion of the southern portion of town. These four-bedroom, single-family homes feature back yards, porches, garages, and far more breathing space then the Village offers. This neighborhood often is more family orientated and even has organized events for children and the neighborhood as a whole.

Hawethorn Village

Settled in the middle of downtown, Hawthorn Village consists of several victorian inspired row houses just off the main street. Due to it's convenience to just about everything, the village can be a tad expensive to live within. However, the residents of this neighborhood often have two to three-story townhouses, often with a one to two-car garage. Many of the houses feature bay windows and/or rooftop terraces with a small fenced-in 'yard'.

River Dale

River Dale primarily consists of apartments that, despite their age and industrial appearing interior, still hold to the Victorian history that permeates the town. These apartments are often the cheapest option and sport scuffed, older wooden floors, open floor plans, visible beams, and the occasional brick wall.

TRYING NOT TO WASTE MY TIME; malia

He remembers when her was younger, maybe ten or eleven, his older brother had a hamster in his room. Benji just wanted to pet that hamster. But his brother would never let anyone play with that hamster except for him. Benjamin would stare longingly as the little critter ran inside its ball, all over the house. One day he asked, once again, if he could play with the little creature and his older brother stared down at him with that hardened gaze and said if Benji cleaned his room and did his chores for a whole week, then he could play with the hamster. Benjamin did just that. A whole week he made his bed, put away his clothes, did his chores, and then finally, he sat down on his brother's bed and waited for his reward. His brother had let him pet the hamster onceâ€"twiceâ€"then he snatched him away. Benji hadn't been able to put the animal in its little ball, feed it, or even hold it. It was just another reminder that he had so little to actually call his own.

Until now that is.
He is reminded of that with the little ball of fur cradled in his arms.

Cheeks burn with embarrassment at his rather stupid, 'dad-joke-like' comment he had made, but a cooling relief washes over him as she smirks, shortly followed by a snorting laughter. Ok, so she thought it was funny, better than thinking he was an idiot right? "It's a good thing I am not trying to be in commercials then," he says with that more characteristic dry humor of his, face remaining straight, all but for a little arched eyebrow, the hint that gives away all he says is in good humor. And he certainly couldn't deny that he was happy the subject of hand shaking seemed to be off the table because that whole thing had been a rather odd predicament and not one that he was anxious to repeat ever again. Leave the hand shake explaining to someone else.

"Umm yeah, I mean you just have to apply and then cross your fingers your accepted," he says in response to her hoping one day she would get to try. An image pops in his head of Malia in an interview trying to get into school and everyone trying to shake hands with her. Well, he hoped she certainly would learn about handshakes if she ever did apply to school. Though her lack of knowledge about handshakes certainly didn't make him think her any less intelligent, he just found it unique and endearing in a way.

He moves the puppy's nose away to keep her from continuing to lick him, though he couldn't deny that it was kinda nice, feeling the pup trust and love him so easily. If only people were like that, if only he were like that. Maybe if he was more like a dog he wouldn't be so serious and solemn all the time. But alas people aren't dogs.

Welllll....

Those piercing amber eyes look back to her own of soft brown, matching her long hair as she begins speaking once more. So she likes to explore too it seemed. Benjamin walks beside Malia as the two begin conversing. Heading towards his apartment, eager to get the pup home and gather supplies. "Not in particular," he says with a small shrug in response to her question. "I didn't expect to end up in...that part of town though," he says, again with hesitancy not wanting to offend her if that was her favorite place. "Got lost in my own thoughts I guess," he says, adding a shrug once more and a casual blink of honey hued eyes. "Did you grow up here?" He asks, a little hopeful, thinking perhaps she could show him the best parts of town.
