Anacosta Heights

Situated above the daily life of the city, Anacosta Heights is a tucked away suburb featuring extravagant neo-gothic inspired mansions. The inhabitants of this neighborhood often show their overwhelming wealth with sports cars lining their long, circular driveways, large pools, and manicured gardens. The homeowners of Anacosta Heights treasure their privacy as seen by the high iron gates to the security personnel present at every entrance.

Dupont Circle

Dupont Circle is a small suburban neighborhood settled within the serene portion of the southern portion of town. These four-bedroom, single-family homes feature back yards, porches, garages, and far more breathing space then the Village offers. This neighborhood often is more family orientated and even has organized events for children and the neighborhood as a whole.

Hawethorn Village

Settled in the middle of downtown, Hawthorn Village consists of several victorian inspired row houses just off the main street. Due to it's convenience to just about everything, the village can be a tad expensive to live within. However, the residents of this neighborhood often have two to three-story townhouses, often with a one to two-car garage. Many of the houses feature bay windows and/or rooftop terraces with a small fenced-in 'yard'.

River Dale

River Dale primarily consists of apartments that, despite their age and industrial appearing interior, still hold to the Victorian history that permeates the town. These apartments are often the cheapest option and sport scuffed, older wooden floors, open floor plans, visible beams, and the occasional brick wall.

death incarnate & night triumphant

Truly, Andras hadn't meant to scold Navi, he hardly enforced rank within his court and he wasn't even doing that, it was merely a natural reaction the way he turned on the woman, demanding she never do that again. The moment those words left his lips, he regretted them immediately. He could see the small amount of progress he had worked towards with the young woman, completely shatter as she draws on that defiance, her green eyes hardening at him as she spits those Latin words at him. He might have been surprised that she knew another tongue, and yet, he was far too... stressed to comment on it, to try and soothe this argument between the small faerie and himself. Though, there is another part of him that wants to call on those more kingly manners, enforce that rank, put her in her place but he knew that it would merely send her off, chase her away and Andras would be protecting no one. Before she waltzes her way to Dorian, Andras steps in Navi's path, his figure towering over her much smaller frame as he looks down at her tiredly, "You have to understand that we all have pasts here," he says in a much quieter voice, that exhaustion so coating his lyrics in that moment, "Dorian was fearful of that portal because of his past," he murmurs, "When things have cooled off, perhaps you should ask him about it. He might be willing to share some of it with you," Andras suggests, finally moving out of her way so that she can saunter her way over to the rather upset Dorian.

Glancing up, he watches Troy in those few moments, the only one that was taking this whole... portal traveling well. Andras can't help but turn in the direction of Dorian and Navi, his brows furrowing as she apologizes in Latin, though, he hardly felt like she was truly sorry. Pinching the bridge of his nose, he releases a heavy sigh, deciding he would not interfere with those two. The monarch would merely have to keep them separate as much as possible. It hardly takes anytime before Navi is stalking back to the two men, her demeanor much more subdued than it had been before. This was not how Andras had planned for the day to go, and yet, there was hardly anything he could do at the given time. He merely had to stride forward, push through this small rough patch. He had realized in all his years of being alive, things tended to have a way of working themselves out. Heaving another heavy sigh, he beckons them onward, stating he had something else he wanted to show them as he puts himself between Dorian and Navi, though, he knew he had nothing more to worry about as Navi trailed behind them. Andras pauses as Dorian comments he will be with them in a moment, his eyes traveling to the fellow monarch, his brows drawn down in confusion as he watches the man... begin to draw in the snow.

Andras is tempted to call out to him, to ask the man if they truly had time for this and yet, he knew Dorian well enough that he wouldn't just stop to do something to satisfy himself. So, Andras watches him, curiosity beginning to glow in those dark hazel eyes as Dorian reaches through that path and pulls a jacket from it. Astonishment colors his features as Dorian merely shrugs that coat on, zipping it up. "That seems incredibly useful," he murmurs to Dorian as he comes abreast with him, a wry grin directed in the Italian man's direction. "Perhaps you can teach me," Andras teases the man, knowing full well he would never be capable of such a feat. Finally, he returns his attention back to their small climb, his eyes darting back to Navi every once in awhile to note the way her gaze trails along the mountains. Their breath swirls in front of them as they finally reach the top, that village so sprawling below them as he gestures with a hand, showing his court Somnia. And of course, there is fear that so dances in his eyes, wary that he might have ruined friendships in that moment. There seems to be silence that engulfs them for the briefest of moments, everyone's eyes widening in surprise and Andras is rather thankful he doesn't find any anger within their depths.

Truly, the monarch had no idea he was holding his breath as he put himself at the mercy of his court. Troy is the first to speak, his hand reaching out and placing it on Andras's shoulder. The man turns to face Troy then, releasing a sigh of relief as he dips his head in gratitude. "I am truly grateful, Troy," he states then, his stance beginning to relax. When he turns back to Navi, he watches her, unable to gauge her reaction as it goes from emotionless to grimacing, her words falling from her tongue were hardly reassuring... until that curiosity seems to take over. Andras hardly thought he needed to worry about Navi but he had broken their friendship and needed to fix it, somehow, someway he would. Eyes softening down at the woman, he reaches out a hand and places it on her head, ruffling those dark locks before snatching his hand away quickly before she could react. Grinning down at her, his eyes soften even more in an apology for his earlier... scolding. They would chat later, now was not the time. It's Dorian's soft lyrics that draws the monarch's gaze away once more, noting the surprise and perhaps incredulity in his eyes as Dorian focuses on the city below them. When Dorian begins to list a series of questions, he's prepared, though he's surprised that it isn't Navi interrogating him in that moment.

"Yes, we grow our own food but there is much trading within the modern world. I have a series of portals tied to objects within Somnia, some are larger than others, and anyone within Somnia can access them. Unless I close them, the faerie's of my court are able to travel to the world we just left and return. They are carefully guarded and every portal within the city leads to somewhere else in the modern world," Andras pauses in his explanation, "You're correct though, there is no electricity here, I was lucky enough to stumble on this world several centuries ago. This world is magic. I admit, I have a very small grasp on understanding this world. It is similar to Earth as far as climate goes, though it is much smaller.," Andras pauses again, this time glancing over at Troy and Navi in his explanation. "There are several thousand faeries under my protection and there has only been one non-faerie within this realm. Though, I intend to extend this world to Sebastian and Amelia with some conditions," he grimaces, glancing at the two men again. "You can understand why this secret has been so jealously kept. Our race is dying and I merely wish to keep our sisters and brothers from going extinct," he explains slowly, "When you both are ready to share Somnia with your family, I ask they swear binding oaths, that there will be no talk of Somnia outside of this realm unless with someone who has been here and that no harm will befall the residents of the city," he states firmly.

His first priority was to protect his court and he had no control of anyone who was not within his court. Though, Andras hardly wanted to be controlling, it was merely a safety measure. "I understand you all have many questions and I promise to explain as best as I can. For now, shall we continue to the lodge? I'd be happy to answer any additional questions there."
