Anacosta Heights

Situated above the daily life of the city, Anacosta Heights is a tucked away suburb featuring extravagant neo-gothic inspired mansions. The inhabitants of this neighborhood often show their overwhelming wealth with sports cars lining their long, circular driveways, large pools, and manicured gardens. The homeowners of Anacosta Heights treasure their privacy as seen by the high iron gates to the security personnel present at every entrance.

Dupont Circle

Dupont Circle is a small suburban neighborhood settled within the serene portion of the southern portion of town. These four-bedroom, single-family homes feature back yards, porches, garages, and far more breathing space then the Village offers. This neighborhood often is more family orientated and even has organized events for children and the neighborhood as a whole.

Hawethorn Village

Settled in the middle of downtown, Hawthorn Village consists of several victorian inspired row houses just off the main street. Due to it's convenience to just about everything, the village can be a tad expensive to live within. However, the residents of this neighborhood often have two to three-story townhouses, often with a one to two-car garage. Many of the houses feature bay windows and/or rooftop terraces with a small fenced-in 'yard'.

River Dale

River Dale primarily consists of apartments that, despite their age and industrial appearing interior, still hold to the Victorian history that permeates the town. These apartments are often the cheapest option and sport scuffed, older wooden floors, open floor plans, visible beams, and the occasional brick wall.

He was never a romantic at heart, per say, but he did believe in providing for your woman and treating her with respect. He would never talk down to someone or treat them like they were anything less than equal to himself. It was just the way he was raised. He grew up with girls who fantasized about princes and knights in shining armor. He was just the kid who got in fights a lot standing up for others who probably didn't want his help in the first place. He didn't get a lot of gratitude for stepping in but after a long talk with his mom while she held a pack of frozen peas to his swollen black eye, he started to accept the fact that not everyone was going to thank him for being the punching bag. Pride was too common an accessory.

He didn't think he could ever see Adelaide as one of those girls or a damsel in distress figure. Even that night at the burlesque, he had no doubt that she could have gotten herself away from that man somehow without his help. He just sped things a long a little and kept her from getting hurt in the meantime. He hated to see the aftermath when girls got away on their own cause most of the time it wasn't scot free.

Both he and Adelaide had been hurt before both mentally and physically in the love department but maybe it just made them both stronger independently so they could find each other and grow stronger together in their shared past. He didn't see how anyone could use or hurt her like that. She was too precious and the man who threw her away like that was a damned fool. He wouldn't make that mistake. He was surprised at how easily she chose to open up to him and trust him after hearing what she'd been through with another man. He was used to being the dumbass who let someone in who wasn't worth it and then get hurt in the end. It was just who he was. He liked to see the good in people. It usually bit him in the ass later but he kept doing it cause not opening up every once in a while was just a whole new kind of burden and he had too many already. If lightening the load meant putting his heart on his sleeve and getting stabbed a few too many times then he would take that any day over guarding himself and missing an opportunity like this.

Adelaide was so independent that it both excited and terrified him. Seeing how strong she was every day only made him fall that much harder for her but at the same time, knowing that she was doing just fine before him and that she could be thriving and successful without him also terrified him. Everything felt perfect though as he held her in his arms on the couch of his apartment. He could feel her skin react when his lips brushed her neck and he couldn't help but smile against her flesh. He craved her like an addiction. He didn't think he'd ever reach satisfaction. He watched with admiration as she put on his shirt and made her way to the bedroom. She made everything look ten times better.

He followed her in, but paused at the doorway, wanting to admire her in his bed just a little longer. At his words, she smiled at him and said she could get used to it too. The pet name "my love" rolled so beautifully off her lips yet it left goosebumps on his arms. After a few more moments of watching her, he made his way to the bed, sliding under the covers and pulling her to him. A sigh of contentment left her lips and he nuzzled into her neck, hearing her laugh in amusement. When he teased her about getting spoiled, she said that they would have to change the fact that he might not have this and he pulled back to search her face. "I would never ask you to give up your big comfy house. Plus I'm sure Townsend would miss taking care of you." He smiled gently.

She cuddled against him and he saw her eyelids flutter closed. He started to let his own flutter closed but then he heard her whisper and he smiled, leaning down to kiss the top of her head. "I love you too, Adelaide, more than I've ever known I could."
