Anacosta Heights

Situated above the daily life of the city, Anacosta Heights is a tucked away suburb featuring extravagant neo-gothic inspired mansions. The inhabitants of this neighborhood often show their overwhelming wealth with sports cars lining their long, circular driveways, large pools, and manicured gardens. The homeowners of Anacosta Heights treasure their privacy as seen by the high iron gates to the security personnel present at every entrance.

Dupont Circle

Dupont Circle is a small suburban neighborhood settled within the serene portion of the southern portion of town. These four-bedroom, single-family homes feature back yards, porches, garages, and far more breathing space then the Village offers. This neighborhood often is more family orientated and even has organized events for children and the neighborhood as a whole.

Hawethorn Village

Settled in the middle of downtown, Hawthorn Village consists of several victorian inspired row houses just off the main street. Due to it's convenience to just about everything, the village can be a tad expensive to live within. However, the residents of this neighborhood often have two to three-story townhouses, often with a one to two-car garage. Many of the houses feature bay windows and/or rooftop terraces with a small fenced-in 'yard'.

River Dale

River Dale primarily consists of apartments that, despite their age and industrial appearing interior, still hold to the Victorian history that permeates the town. These apartments are often the cheapest option and sport scuffed, older wooden floors, open floor plans, visible beams, and the occasional brick wall.

His head tilted to the side. Those large, dark eyes focusing with curiosity upon the door in front of him. For several long moments he seemed to contemplate knocking. The sky outside was slowly lightening. The sunlight chasing away the darkness. A notable change, even to him, in his world of nearly black and white and fading greys. Perhaps he had stayed this way far to long now. Long enough that the colours had started to drain from his sight, leaving only those animal eyes in its place and yet he found himself oddly content with it. There was a greater peacefulness to an animal hide then he had ever found as a human. His head shook lightly, that perfectly trimmed black mane was momentarily thrown askew before it fell back agianst the fine, muscular curve of his equally ebony neck. He would need to hurry. Matteo would find him missing soon and those French words would start. Unlike so many he did not find the French language alluring. Rather, he found it...odd. He understood it, to be sure, he understood many languages and yet it was easy, once more, to simply pretend he did not.

One forehoof lifted to smack loudly agianst the front door of the young woman's apartment, the sound ringing out through the inside and yet, like most beings, she was likely asleep as the sun rose. Someone in her apartment however- was clearly not. The barking that erupted from within was followed by the scuttling and scratching of claws on hard floors before what was clearly a dog began to defend the door from the inside. Darius' ears pricked forward, neat and sharp atop his fine head, with a distinct look of curiosity. The small animal was angry. Was it angry at him? His velvety soft black muzzle lowered to the floor and that small crack beneath the door and floor that allowed him to inhale the scent of the creature within. The dog, in its outrage, did the same, the pair left to inspect one another momentarily before the doors baying increased in further protest of Darius' existence. The stallions eyes widened briefly. A small, snort of contempt for such a creature offered aloud before the war horse, trained to face all battle head on, so simply allowed that gift for teleportation to grasp him. A single moment was all it took for Darius to appear inside Harley's apartment and behind the barking Ace.

For several moments the dog continued to bark at the door before seeming to realise it had been fooled as it whirled around. Dog and Horse momentarily left facing one another in a veritable stalemate. Darius' own nose extended toward the creature once more. Ace, clearly taken aback by this entire turn of events and the very fact he was faced with a creature larger then himself seemed to consider that offered nose before extending his own. The pair once more cautiously exchanging those scents before each withdrew his nose to himself. Silence. Little save the faint jingle of those dog tags upon Ace's collar and the faint squeak of leather on Darius' leather halter dared make a sound in that ever precarious moment. Ace was the first to move, the dog suddenly and abruptly launching into a play bow with the clear decision that the animal before him was, likely, a very large dog and could surely be played with. What a strange creature. Darius moved to turn in place, his hooves thudding heavily on that floor. This movement, it seemed, was thrilling to the dog. His excitement uncontainable as he launched himself forward like a creature suddenly possessed by the desire to exude energy in all forms possible. Ace, in this state of possession, running near hysterically around the living room before bounding into Harley's bedroom. The dark-haired woman, if not awoken already by the barking, was surely awakened now by her poorly trained guardian dog.

Darius continued forward then, the stallion making every effort not to collide with the furniture as his black tail flicked up at his flanks, the Barb wandering forward to stand in the doorway of Harleys bedroom then and eye the startled young woman. His own head was tossed upwards in energetic flare before that low wicker of greeting rose within his throat. That sound seeming to excite Ace all over again as the animal bowed down once more in anticipation of another jonty run. Darius, this time, affording him a dubious look beneath that fringe of perfectly groomed forelock. The war horse, tonight, was the very picture of immaculately groomed. Someone, it seemed, having worked hard on the horses coat. Darius practically shone even in the faint light of the bedroom, his freshly oiled hooves equally so, his mane perfectly trimmed- that small piece of frayed rope that hung from his hatler however indicated that he had, perhaps, come of his own accord and when someone had not desired im to do so. Darius, it seemed, inclined to his own motivations today.

Harley's gaze however, had already moved past him to search the room beyond. This very action inclining him to pin back his ears as one hoof stomped heavily agianst the ground to bring her attention back to him. She was looking for Matteo. He knew it! How...impolite. He had come all this way to visit her and she did looked only for his Master. Women. Darius shifted further forward then, his teeth reaching to grasp the blanket upon Harley's bed before tossing it aside. That would show her of his displeasure in this. His statement made the stallion merely proceeded to simply ...stand within her bedroom. Darius inclined to wait for several more long moments before shifting atop the floor once more to offer the woman his back with the clear indication he so intended her to get on....

How very cranky Matteo was going to be with him. How much he enjoyed the thought.
