Anacosta Heights

Situated above the daily life of the city, Anacosta Heights is a tucked away suburb featuring extravagant neo-gothic inspired mansions. The inhabitants of this neighborhood often show their overwhelming wealth with sports cars lining their long, circular driveways, large pools, and manicured gardens. The homeowners of Anacosta Heights treasure their privacy as seen by the high iron gates to the security personnel present at every entrance.

Dupont Circle

Dupont Circle is a small suburban neighborhood settled within the serene portion of the southern portion of town. These four-bedroom, single-family homes feature back yards, porches, garages, and far more breathing space then the Village offers. This neighborhood often is more family orientated and even has organized events for children and the neighborhood as a whole.

Hawethorn Village

Settled in the middle of downtown, Hawthorn Village consists of several victorian inspired row houses just off the main street. Due to it's convenience to just about everything, the village can be a tad expensive to live within. However, the residents of this neighborhood often have two to three-story townhouses, often with a one to two-car garage. Many of the houses feature bay windows and/or rooftop terraces with a small fenced-in 'yard'.

River Dale

River Dale primarily consists of apartments that, despite their age and industrial appearing interior, still hold to the Victorian history that permeates the town. These apartments are often the cheapest option and sport scuffed, older wooden floors, open floor plans, visible beams, and the occasional brick wall.

Airing of Grievances

She holds her steely gaze for a moment after my second attempt at lessening the tension. The moment passes and she bursts into a small laugh before leaning close to me with a "Hold that thought." and taking a short leave to my neighbor, the cause of our interaction. I wish her luck under my breath, since I've been here he's had his fair share of noisy nights and I've never been able to get him to quiet down, never mind make an appearance at the door. Landlady keeps covering for him but nothing gets done, maybe it's her grandson... or daughter, it's not that I'm insensitive to gender but most people this doushey are guys and it's exhausting to keep qualifying the unknown gender identity of my neighbor, ok? I half watch lackadaisically from my door frame, too tired to really do much else. I arch my eyebrows when the door actually opens, flooding the hallway with more sound. I slowly wince and sigh before a cat appears between my legs, arching its back as it rubs against me, purring. I manage a small smile but don't take our relationship any farther quite yet.

The discussion down the hall becomes animated and quickly results in my neighbor's door slamming shut and... nothing. Silence. It's amazing, I'm not sure I've heard anything like it. The mysterious stranger saunters back, grinning like a fox in a chicken coup, scooping up the cat in a fluid motion and putting the cherry on an invitation into my home. I consider her, and the cat, and the state of the open apartment behind me. "I think I can throw something together for my knight in shining gym shorts. Come on in, I promise not to bite." I say, mustering a very tired smile and a little bow to accentuate my thanks before turning into my little hole in the wall, pulling the chain on a floor lamp and turning off the TV. "What do I call you anyway? I'm not likely to find 'Girl from the Hallway' in the phone book and I might need to call upon your neighbor-vanquishing superpowers in the future." I rummage through the fridge and retrieve a carton of whole milk, pushing some queued dishes out of the way on the counter and grab a few of my finest plastic cups from on top of the fridge, and a foam cereal bowl for good measure.

Slow down you crazy child
You're so ambitious for a juvenile
But then if you're so smart, tell me
why are you still so afraid?
