Anacosta Heights

Situated above the daily life of the city, Anacosta Heights is a tucked away suburb featuring extravagant neo-gothic inspired mansions. The inhabitants of this neighborhood often show their overwhelming wealth with sports cars lining their long, circular driveways, large pools, and manicured gardens. The homeowners of Anacosta Heights treasure their privacy as seen by the high iron gates to the security personnel present at every entrance.

Dupont Circle

Dupont Circle is a small suburban neighborhood settled within the serene portion of the southern portion of town. These four-bedroom, single-family homes feature back yards, porches, garages, and far more breathing space then the Village offers. This neighborhood often is more family orientated and even has organized events for children and the neighborhood as a whole.

Hawethorn Village

Settled in the middle of downtown, Hawthorn Village consists of several victorian inspired row houses just off the main street. Due to it's convenience to just about everything, the village can be a tad expensive to live within. However, the residents of this neighborhood often have two to three-story townhouses, often with a one to two-car garage. Many of the houses feature bay windows and/or rooftop terraces with a small fenced-in 'yard'.

River Dale

River Dale primarily consists of apartments that, despite their age and industrial appearing interior, still hold to the Victorian history that permeates the town. These apartments are often the cheapest option and sport scuffed, older wooden floors, open floor plans, visible beams, and the occasional brick wall.

Airing of Grievances

I show my guest in, making for the fridge while she makes herself at home investigating my apartment like people do when first introduced to a strangers den. Her sarcastic comment sits just fine with me, had I known I was going to have a guest (guests?) I certainly would have cleaned a little but as it stands things could be worse. "Thanks, I have a company come in once a month and clean it with a grenade." I reply, digging into the fridge. While spelunking I make with the introductions. I admire Carolina's demeanor, too many girls put on a song and dance to get you to drop your guard, but Carolina? Short, sassy, and southern. I can respect that. "Carolina it is then. Pleasure to be your neighbor Carolina but if it's all the same I hope we don't have another encounter like this; I could hardly pay you." Setting down the drinks Carolina looks almost distracted before she snaps out of it probing for my own introduction. I laugh heartily at her little jab, feeling only a little bad for the incident. On one hand, I had become the very thing I hated most on most nights, but on the other I had met Carolina (and her cat). "Yeah, I don't know if I could live with myself being an annoying neighbor. I much prefer Ivan King, hopefully I haven't made a bad first impression tonight. To second impressions then?" I ask, demurely holding out one cup for her while raising the other for a toast. "Feel free to make yourself at home, stay a while if you like, I've got nothing better to do than revel in the silence emanating through the wall thanks to you. Who's your friend by the way?" I finish, indicating the tabby following us around and dropping myself into the other of my two diverse seating options between my sizable love seat and squeaky office chair.

Slow down you crazy child
You're so ambitious for a juvenile
But then if you're so smart, tell me
why are you still so afraid?
