South

The southern part of the city has a chic family-oriented sort of charm to it. Here, small locally owned shops run rampant, neighbors often know each other by name, and the monthly socials are an event not to be missed. In the South, children can often be seen safely playing in the park or on sidewalks and in the weekends, families often take to the beach to enjoy the warm waters surrounding the city.

Ascension Center of Equitation

The Ascension Center of Equitation is the epicenter of the Dark Hunter Cavalry Unit. Originally a high-class facility for show-jumping, Ascension now caters entirely to the Cavalry Unit. Here the Dark Hunters learn how to ride and fight upon the backs of horses - many of which are Were's themselves.

Hyde Park

Hyde Place takes up a large part of the Southern side of the city and includes a large playground, several fountains, and a small garden. The park is open from five in the morning till midnight though many shady characters may visit this place while it's technically "closed". The park has also been a venue for several concerts and hosts many holiday-related events. Under a full moon, witches are often seen here for the sacred ground beneath the iconic Weeping Beech.

Point Defiance Zoo and Aquarium

The Point Defiance Zoo & Aquarium (PDZA) is an award-winning combined zoo and aquarium located within the Southern Part of Sacrosanct. Situated on 92 acres in Sacrosanct's Hyde Park, the zoo and aquarium are home to over 9,000 specimens representing 367 animal species. Point Defiance is also widely known for its conversation efforts regarding the breed and release program of Red Wolves.

The Outskirts

Beyond the city limits and over the bridge lies the deep, dark, and almost impenetrable forest. Often seen as a way to guard this magical city against the world that surrounds it, many are entirely ignorant of the evil that may creep between those tree trunks. Many were-creatures use the forest for the transformations of their newest members and some even take to hunting here. It isn't particularly peculiar for people to go missing within this forest but once you get through, the rest of the world awaits.

I bet on me and my own heartbeat

It is a nice day today.

Kat peers out her window and smiles, a flicker of a grin, as she notes the sunshine that streams in. Today, today would certainly be the perfect day for a bike ride.

The witch, who doesn't remember that she is a witch, plops down upon her bed and closes her laptop. She was done with school for the day she decides, she got enough done last night and early this morning, and this could be one of the last warm days remaining.

Blue eyes peer downwards, inspecting her outfit and if it would be effective in bike riding or not. The acid wash skinny jeans rolled at the ankle and a plain white, flowy top. Kathryn decides to add just a little something extra and reaches into her closet to grab a crocheted pink cardigan. No doubt as she rode her bike the air rushing by her could induce a slight chill.

She steps from her room and goes to her front door, stopping and kneeling down to put on her white reeboks. Still, even though she no longer lives with her grandparents, the unknowing witch will not wear her shoes in the house. It seems as if the habit was engrained in her in some way. So her shoes were always placed by the door. In her entrance hall as well, leans her old bike, painted baby blue as she had requested when her grandaddy had found it and fixed it up for her. He always had been the type to find old, beaten down objects and turn them into something beautiful. This bike had been a wonderful find.

Tanned hands with nails painted navy reaches to the handle bars as she attempts to navigate her bike out her front door while simultaneously trying to keep it open. After getting her baby blue bike out the door (finally), she carefully carries it down the stairs, staring down at her feet, instinctively knowing that that a misstep here would be disastrous.

A few minutes later and she is peddling down the side of the street, dark, near black locks are streaming out behind her, twisting and turning together into what would no doubt form as some difficult to get out knots. Pink crochet cardigan billows around her as air rushes through it and chill air brushes against her cheeks with an invigorating caress. It feels good to be pedaling again, hands holding lightly onto the curved handle bars, watching the world flow passed her as she rides towards a park that is just up ahead.

Soon, she veers her bike to the right and enters into Hyde Park, smile still plastered on her face as the large, mature trees swallow her up, legs continuing to peddle in a steady rhythm. Eyes of bright blue sway upwards as she takes in the leaves that cradle above her, her mind grows blank as she just absorbs the moment. Not a single thought drifts through her head, not the homework she has, nor quizzes she needs to study, or even the unpacking that has to be done. She feels free, nothing but the air that rushes around her.

But, really, Kat should at least have been paying better attention to where exactly she was biking. A little squirrel darts across the sidewalk and Kathryn swerves her bike to avoid hitting it, but she hits the curb instead, sending her bike toppling side-ways and spilling her onto the grass.

Kat simply lays there for a moment on her stomach, trying to absorb exactly what just happened, before she pushes herself up to assess the damage. Grass stains on acid wash jeans, small scrapes on both her knee and she can feel a stinging sensation on her left elbow, noting that it too probably received a scrape. But all in all, she survived her little 'accident,' so her solemn face splits into her typical small smile as the witch who doesn't remember it begins to laugh out of her stupidity and slightly embarrassment.

Yeah, today was a good day for a bike ride after all.
