South

The southern part of the city has a chic family-oriented sort of charm to it. Here, small locally owned shops run rampant, neighbors often know each other by name, and the monthly socials are an event not to be missed. In the South, children can often be seen safely playing in the park or on sidewalks and in the weekends, families often take to the beach to enjoy the warm waters surrounding the city.

The Ascension Center of Equitation is the epicenter of the Dark Hunter Cavalry Unit. Originally a high-class facility for show-jumping, Ascension now caters entirely to the Cavalry Unit. Hyde Park

Hyde Place takes up a large part of the Southern side of the city and includes a large playground, several fountains, and a small garden. The park is open from five in the morning till midnight though many shady characters may visit this place while it's technically "closed". The park has also been a venue for several concerts and hosts many holiday-related events. Under a full moon, witches are often seen here for the sacred ground beneath the iconic Weeping Beech.

Point Defiance Zoo and Aquarium

The Point Defiance Zoo & Aquarium (PDZA) is an award-winning combined zoo and aquarium located within the Southern Part of Sacrosanct. Situated on 92 acres in Sacrosanct's Hyde Park, the zoo and aquarium are home to over 9,000 specimens representing 367 animal species. Point Defiance is also widely known for its conversation efforts regarding the breed and release program of Red Wolves.

The Outskirts

Beyond the city limits and over the bridge lies the deep, dark, and almost impenetrable forest. Often seen as a way to guard this magical city against the world that surrounds it, many are entirely ignorant of the evil that may creep between those tree trunks. Many were-creatures use the forest for the transformations of their newest members and some even take to hunting here. It isn't particularly peculiar for people to go missing within this forest but once you get through, the rest of the world awaits.

Kathryn Quinn Murphy
I bet on me and my own heartbeat

Kathryn laughs more out of embarrassment than anything else. She hopes that not many aside from the young woman who had helped her, had been witness to the tumble she had taken on her bike. It was mortifying enough that one person saw her, let alone an entire audience. AS she reaches down and grabs her bike, Kathryn lets her icy blue gaze rove over it briefly, making sure nothing was damaged on it, nor that the paint was chipped. She could hear her grandad now, telling her that this bike was an antique and yaddy yaddy ya. She smiles inwardly with the thought of the man who perfectly both the father she never had and the grandad that she did. How he balanced both of those roles so elegantly, Kathryn will never know.

Kathryn laughs at her comment about squirrels winning 90% of the time, thinking it was certainly true. The young woman grabs her hand, responding to her introduction, and Kat finds herself relieved to have encountered a friendly face on this particular autumn day. "Emerson," Kathryn repeats, her name rolling from her lips lined only in chapstick. "You don't hear that name very often," she says in admiration, thinking about how her own name was so common, in fact, one of her good friends had also been named Katherine, though, thankfully, she preferred to go by Katie.

The breeze that swirls around the two young witches is gentle, calm, warm, and comforting. Not at all like the breeze that Kathryn had caused when she was stung by that jellyfish that one day at the beach with her grandparents. As dark locks twist and wrap around her face before finally coming to rest on her shoulders and cascading down her back as the breeze finally halts its course, leaving the air quiet and at ease. Kathryn's blue eyes dart around her surroundings at the sudden change in weather once again in this new city as Emmy states how usually the climate is quite nice here. "Well, good. Where I used to live it was warm a majority of the year," she says thinking of her childhood home for a moment, the the beach house they used to spend every summer in, going to the ocean nearly every day.

"I'm glad to see another new face," she says with a small laugh. It wasn't easy being the new kid, and having someone else around who was new was comforting in a way. Emmy asks what brings her to town and Kat gives a small shrug of her shoulders. "It was just time for me to try life out on my own," she says casually. "I lived in the same town for junior high, high school, and college, so I thought maybe a change may be in order," Kathryn states in truth. "What about you?" She asks. "How did you happen upon this...vibrant city," Kathryn says with a small smile forming on her face, unable to capture the right word to explain all the unique characters that seemed to call Sacrosanct home. And she doesn't notice how shy Emmy is, Kathryn just feels her heart swell with gratitude that she should have come across such a friendly face in the park on this autumn day.
