South

The southern part of the city has a chic family-oriented sort of charm to it. Here, small locally owned shops run rampant, neighbors often know each other by name, and the monthly socials are an event not to be missed. In the South, children can often be seen safely playing in the park or on sidewalks and in the weekends, families often take to the beach to enjoy the warm waters surrounding the city.

Hyde Park

Hyde Place takes up a large part of the Southern side of the city and includes a large playground, several fountains, and a small garden. The park is open from five in the morning till midnight though many shady characters may visit this place while it's technically "closed". The park has also been a venue for several concerts and hosts many holiday-related events. Under a full moon, witches are often seen here for the sacred ground beneath the iconic Weeping Beech.

The Point Defiance Zoo & Aquarium (PDZA) is an award-winning combined zoo and aquarium located within the Southern Part of Sacrosanct. Situated on 92 acres in Sacrosanct's Hyde Park, the zoo and aquarium are home to over 9,000 specimens representing 367 animal species. Point Defiance is also widely known for its conversation efforts regarding the breed and release program of Red Wolves.

The Outskirts

Beyond the city limits and over the bridge lies the deep, dark, and almost impenetrable forest. Often seen as a way to guard this magical city against the world that surrounds it, many are entirely ignorant of the evil that may creep between those tree trunks. Many were-creatures use the forest for the transformations of their newest members and some even take to hunting here. It isn't particularly peculiar for people to go missing within this forest but once you get through, the rest of the world awaits.

I keep my eyes wide open

I'm about to make my own way, heaven help me keep my faith

She remembers sitting inside her grandparents beach house, glacier blue eyes tracing the storm clouds out of their front window. Why did it have to rain today? Sadly, those same icy blue eyes had turned away as the little nine year old girl slumped to the floor. Every day, up until this point, the sky had been a bright, cornflower blue, void of clouds, just perfect, flawless blue, the epitome of a summer sky. A deep complexity in the sheer simplicity of it. The previous day, Kathryn had met another girl and her brother that was about her age, the the newfound friends had made a plan to meet on the beach the next day to build the biggest sandcastle in existence. But the storm now snuffed out any hope of that ever happening, for her friends were to leave in just two days, today had been their only chance of taking on such a conquest. But everything was ruined.

Ruined I tell you!

Inside the girl with locks of rich cocoa, a tantrum swells like a storm over the ocean, but on the outside, she remains calm, though she had not been able to hide her disappointment no matter how well she constructed her mask. Glacial eyes did not spill any tears, but there was a ghostly sadness to them, that her grandparents had noticed so easily in the child they were raising more like a daughter than a granddaughter. A hesitant frown had found her lips as she stared hopelessly out the window with longing. That was when the grandparents of the child with those icy blue eyes resembling the glaciers of the frozen south, came to her and turned that dim, grey afternoon of a summer storm, into something quite magical and unexpected.

Slowly, silver blue eyes that had been nearly glistened with tears, turned into something bright and joyful. The living room of their beach home suddenly become entrapped in a fort, using blankets and chairs and tables. They lit a fire and roasted smores, they told stories around the fire and huddled beneath a thick blanket as the storm raged a war outside their windows and soon, the girl with glacial eyes entirely forgot even what her plan had been that day. For it had seemed that this had been the plan all along.

And that was how Kathryn had learned to love the storms.

Glacial blues roll playfully in their sockets as she makes idle chit chat for the moment with the blue eyed man, a small smile does manage to worm its way onto those soft lips. She notes the way his words seem surrounded in such confidence and surety and curiosity sparks for just a moment behind icy blue eyes as she offers him a meager smile. "I take it you knew of the forecast today?" She says. "And you didn't bother to tell me," Kathryn jests humorously towards the mane, pale eyes lighting with an impish joy. What he does next catches her off guard for a moment. He comments of her dress and for a moment his own blue eyes look upon her shirt and the normally fiery Kathryn finds no retort within her throat instead she feels her face flush a pretty shade of pink with an "Oh," of surprise before she turns away from him and sits calmly in the table adjacent to the man.

She can feel the chill of the ocean air, but she suddenly feels too shy to stand up and walk past the blue eyed man to make her way inside and once she makes her order of coffee, she finds herself trapped within the patio, sharing the same breathing space as the man who had let his eyes wander over Kathryn's young and slender frame.

Glacier blue gaze steals one more glance towards the mysterious, whiskey drinking man, but it would seem the spider finally caught the fly within its web as she finds herself making sudden and direct eye contact within him. Bright blue eyes like sky on a sunny day widen in surprise for a moment as he speaks. Despite herself, she casts another humorous smile his way as his words tumble towards her like waves to the shore. "I really just wanted to know what sort of whiskey you have been drinking," the blue eyed witch says, looking at him from underneath those long, dark, feminine lashes of hers. Those startling blue eyes like a clear summer day looking straight at him now, no longer flitting away like a shy rabbit fearful of the sly fox. Chocolate tinted hair hanging over each of her shoulders as she turns entirely towards him. Thick lashes blink for a moment over icy blue eyes before she speaks once more. "Whiskey happens to be my beverage of choice on more occasions than not," she says with a smile hidden in those bright blue eyes even if her lips barely twitch into a simper of a thing.

The waitress brings over the sable haired witch's coffee, and Kathryn can see it is steaming hot. Perfect, just what she needed actually. She swiftly pours a bit of cream into it, brilliant blue eyes watching as the dark swirled with the light before turning her gaze to the mysterious man and taking a gracious sip of the warm drink, feeling the caffeine hit her body like a rush of endorphins. "Are you trying to be a bad influence on me?" She playfully asks, and despite herself a smile carves its way onto her delicate face in response to his suggestion of her adding a bit of whiskey to her cup of coffee. "We barely know each other for me to be taking such a suggestion from you," she says light heartedly. With her own hint of impish nature she reaches over and grabs the bottle, but not before flashing a look in his direction. "I'm Kathryn," she says simply before pulling the bottle over to her and adding a splash of the amber liquid to her coffee. She replaces the bottle back on the man's table and takes a moment to gauge his reaction, glacial eyes bright with mischief. "Nice to meet you."
