West

The western part of the city is often home to the poorer residents. Here there is a grunginess that permeates the town from the graffiti on the once cleaned brick buildings to the broken and unmaintained architecture. Crime runs high within the western half of town, making it the home of supernatural gangs of illicit activities. Such activities are rarely reported, however, and most residents are distrustful of individual's of authorities, and often let the powerful supernatural beings sort things out amongst themselves. Be careful wandering the Western streets after the sun falls.

Within the turbulent industrial district lies this club. The warehouse doesn't look like much on the outside but it provides a memorable experience from the state of the art lighting, offbeat Victorian-inspired artwork, comfortable black leather lounges, and the infamous 'black light' room. There is a wide variety of alcohol that lines the shelves of both of the magical and ordinary variety. It is a common stomping ground for the supernatural who want to let loose and dance the night away to the music that floods the establishment. Humans are most welcome if they dare.

Some fear fire, but I've become it.

Mira seemed almost transfixed with the sliver of a glimpse into the otherwise, mostly obscure past of her boyfriend. Something the alpha rarely ever brought up himself. Even if it was only as simple as the pronunciation of his first name it prompted a warm smile at imagining a younger Tetradore. It quickly turned into a theatrical tangent that Matteo seemed lost within. Mira only heard the same heavy-accented name on repeat. There was not a single difference from the first time he had said it, at least not to her own ears. But the name sounded incredibly French. Ai-dun. Even under the intent scrutiny as the Frenchman's seeking gaze seemed to look for her prompt agreement. How certain she was that his look seemed very close to peer pressure. "I see what you are saying. I think it's the accent... Does it sound like I am saying it wrong when I say.. Aiden?" She questioned curiously as she peered at Matteo whose silver eyes were glimmering in amusement only he appeared to be aware of.

Yet her boyfriend's father was not on the Ark to remanence and make small talk. Right? The she-wolf was convinced that he merely was dropping by with a quick hello before seeking out his son. She could not hide the surprise that flashed across her features when he claimed that he was there for her. Her? That surprise shifted to the minor commotion of one of the kitchen staff that very intentionally walked by as if trying to catch the Frenchman's eye. The sound of her feminine giggling from Matteo's look alone appeared to thrill the woman all the more. Mira swore the girl preened like a peacock before rushing to the kitchen to undoubtedly inform the others. Mira cocked a brow as Matteo was quick to claim that it was his irresistible French allure. Clearly. It had nothing to do with the way he seemed to welcome it.

However, the moment ended nearly as abruptly as it began, to speak, which indicated he was clearly not leaving any time soon. It seemed wrong not to offer him a drink when he sat at her bar. Not that she minded the company. It was always much too calm in these moments before the veritable storm of fight night descended on the ship. The French fae downed the first drink with skilled precision as he silently asked for more with the mere tap of his finger upon the rim of his glass and pushing it across the bar top toward her. With a nod, she didn't need to be told twice, the woman working on auto-pilot as she filled the glass once more. It was the second that he seemed to take his time with, content to savour it as he claimed that this time, his intentions were not to stir trouble. At least not with Tet's cars again. How the very topic had lingered within her mind and yet what harm would come of it to ask the man himself. Something he seemed to dismiss with a simple shrug and yet she had caught that very look that said otherwise. She swore she hadn't imagined it. A silent admittance that he had stolen that car to shift the focus of the Ark sinking just to put the attention on something that at least could be fixed. Something Mira found strangely... selfless. However, he seemed content to blame the whole ordeal that he was simply a bad driver. "Best leave the driving to Aiden then." She admitted with a nod.

That teasing smile remained on his impish features, a look that almost seemed permanently secured on the man's face like he was a man without a serious bone in his body. But how certain he did. The pair left that topic behind them as the conversation went on a whole new track as he dropped that she had been with his son longer than any other.

Yup, that got her. She fell right for the misdirection like he knew she wouldn't be able to resist and he was regrettably right. Even as she offered that subtle prompt to continue. Of course, he didn't. The man was simply content to repeat the same thing and nothing more, offering a simple fact. Like going down an uncharted road only to find out it was a dead end. Just like that, he changed the topic again. That, she was certain, should not be allowed after dropping a truth like the one he has just said.

That was when the fae brought up that visit to her family. Of all the topics. Eventful, was the only word she could use to describe it. Surely that complicated story was best left predominantly unsaid, especially as far as Tet's family were concerned. She focused on the fact that it was good to see her family again. The brunette she-wolf leaned easily against the bar, arms loosely folded beneath her chest. They hardly lingered upon the intricacies of all that had happened.

She did not expect those words he offered that comment about needing to forgive Tet and that he was not the most social of beings.

"I do not blame him. It wasn't a great situation to spring on him. I wish he could have met them under different circumstances, but I do not regret him meeting my family. Just as I hope he doesn't regret letting me get to meet all of you. Life rarely ever goes to plan, so I figure it's best to just accept it." It would seem they were both destined meant to meet each other's family under less-than-ideal moments. But their relationship, at least those milestones... almost always unfolded that way and yet she wouldn't rewrite it even if given the chance. No, they certainly did not... start off like most couples. But they certainly had not met that way either.

She noted the amusement that remained upon his features which did not match his serious words. He shook his head before offering more. She knew of his dislike of crowds and especially his dislike of weddings, not that she could blame him. She knew his private nature and accepted it. She valued that there were moments that were just their own. Yet it was the offered remark that Tet cared a great deal but was not the best at showing it. Was he trying to offer her a semblance of reassurance of some kind?

She considered the Frenchman's words and their weight. Where was this coming from exactly?

Mira listened closely as he offered that all things with Aiden took time and inquired if she was prepared to be patient. How well she understood that. She had not pressed for more than he was willing to offer. She did not push him for affection, did not demand more time which he clearly did not have. She was willing to accept him for what he was. Just as he offered her. Even though she had wondered where he often disappeared to, that she had wondered why she felt his cold so soon after feeling his heat. How she wished she could understand and yet how she was willing to give it and him time. After all, didn't he offer that to everyone else around him?

She bobbed her head softly in response before she replied to the question about being patient. "I intend to be." She was certain about that. How she knew she wanted him. Everything that he had to offer her but that required going at his pace. Of everything, she had figured that much out about the stoic alpha.

"While I do appreciate you sharing the insight you shared. I have to ask where this is coming from. Did Tet say something? Is he okay?" She inquired with a gentle frown upon her features, as she studied a face that simply could not be read. Perhaps Matteo was just as secretive as his son was. Yet if there was something wrong, she could help, couldn't she? She waited intently for his answer. Eventually, he then claimed that he was happy Tet met her. Those kind words smoothed out the frown from her features, softening her golden eyes too. Yet to hear it from someone that mattered so deeply to her boyfriend seemed to matter more than she could have expressed at that moment. His concern for his sons was evident, coming from a place of love, even she could see that. She could see how much they mattered to him. That their happiness mattered to him even if it meant it received their anger in return. It tugged at her own heartstrings, seeing something she had never received from her own father even if she knew the man cared for her family in his own way. "I am happy to hear you say it but even more than that. I am glad knowing that his father cares so deeply about the well-being of his sons. I know it can come at a cost." A cost she knew all too well, one that the she-wolf had paid to keep her own family safe. One that she could gladly do again.

But it was the sudden frown that silenced anything more that she had to say... his gaze shifted away as if in some deep thought just before Matteo revealed that there were some things he needed to ask her of. Oh? She shifted, unfolding her arms to lean forward. "Oh? What do you want to know?"

His features went from serious to impish real fast before he asked the most bizarre question and even stranger follow-up.

Packet pasta? What on earth? He further continued on about her cooking and if he should be disappointed in it. Huh?

"By packet pasta, do you mean... mac and cheese?" But then she considered his implication of her disappointing cooking. For some reason that amused her at the thought.

"I feel like my vovo(grandmother) would be offended about insinuating my cooking is bad. It would set the old lady off... So I won't tell her you said it. Are you familiar with traditional Brazilian cooking, Matteo?" She rose a brow then as if she was suddenly judging him on that very answer.

"Or are you really trying to find an invitation to dinner at some point? Although, I have to point out that these days I am way more familiar with serving drinks than meals if I am being entirely honest. Tet has us spoiled with the staff cooking pack meals. I wonder if he is secretly worried we will starve."
