    The North

Within the Northern vicinity of the city the wealthy gather behind meticulously trimmed hedges and high class victorian architecture. The streets are paved with stone, the buildings are made of brick, and the storefronts are brightly lit and inviting. In the North every establishment is made to cater to the rich and the wealthy. Many such places are used to the sometimes peculiar requests of the otherworldly but here there is little that money cannot buy - weather it be illegal or merely looking the other way. Vampires and Dark Hunters are often found upon these Northern streets, their long lives often contributing to their sizable wealth which allow them the luxuries that the North provides.

He slumped his shoulders forward as he walked, trying to look like he was cold, giving that unapproachable look even though he couldn't be more comfortable in his fleece hoodie and American Eagle jeans. He was always more at ease outside in the open air than inside. He breathed easier when he could see no wall on either side of him. He didn't plan on staying in his room at the Witchery very much. It was an exclosed space, albeit a comfortable space but enclosed none the less. He'd rather be out walking around and getting to know the new city his coven had called him to. He wasn't sure exactly why he was here yet but he gathered enough from the big wigs that it was something big, something almost cosmic. It had to do with that prophecy about Eve though he couldn't see how they could be as close as everyone was saying. There were whispers, idle gossip in his opinion but he intended to see for himself soon enough just what all the fuss was about. He had been invited to a circle tomorrow night so he would find out then.

He paused not too far away from the Witchery to check his phone, hearing the familiar ding of a message. He sighed, knowing already it was from his "friend," Jessie. She was a sweet girl and it had been fun but she knew what she was signing up for when he took her to bed. He told her he wasn't looking for anything past a one night stand. He couldn't do anything more. His heart wasn't in it anymore. Not since Keith. He would never forgive himself for what he did. The love of his life was dead because of him. He didn't deserve a life after that and yet somehow he kept waking up every morning. It wasn't fair. He glanced through the message and hit delete without replying, shaking his head as he put the phone back in his back pocket. She was asking where he was staying and he knew why. She wanted another dance in the sheets but he wasn't interested. He decided he'd just avoid her for now. Besides, she was back in Rochester so he shouldn't run into her out here, not unless the coven called her in too.

As he glanced up, he was surprised to see another man looking over toward him. He found himself searching the man's features, as if seeing if he recognized him from somewhere but no, nothing about the man's aura was familiar. He had a ruggish handsome appearance and a friendly look in his eyes that just spelled trouble. Christian was sure his own eyes screamed anything but friendly and yet the other man still found the nerve to smile at him. Damn, if that wasn't a nice smile. Before he knew it, Christian's own lips had tugged into a small smile of his own, a habit from his days in retail back in the day before the New Eden and trying to lose himself in his magic. His blue eyes twinkled with interest as he tilted his head and leaned back against the wall behind him, pulling his leg up to prop his foot on the wall behind him. "Do I know you from somewhere? I'm new to town so I doubt it'd be from here." His lips quirked a little before he held his hand out. "I'm Christian."
