What in all of Gods name was she doing in there?! He could hear….banging he was sure of it. The blonde hunter remaining entirely silent for a few moments longer outside that front door in an effort to listen. How hard was it to climb through a window and open a front door without destroying the house? Well, to be fair, he supposed she shouldn’t have had to climb through a window at all. The man having readily goaded her into it. The woman’s natural competitiveness perhaps more easily exploited by the man then it should have been in that moment and yet, if their roles were reversed he was almost entirely sure she would have done the same to him. His lip quirking ever so slightly at the idea of it before another loud –crash- saw both his eyes lift. Azrael shouting out her name then in some effort to at least assure himself she was alright. Jack hadn’t hunted properly in over a decade, the chance of the man having anything truly dangerous in their was slim at best and yet not totally impossible. God, what if he’d fucking booby trapped the place? He’d always been bloody paranoid. He’d probably sent his girlfriend into some sort of apocalyptic hell hole. Her lack of response hardly appeasing him. The Hunter very near considering simply kicking that flimsy door down before the sound of those locks undoing saw him pause. Serafina swinging that door open a moment later. Whatever he had been about to say readily died on his lips at her abrupt admittance she had broken a lamp. That worry upon his features shifting into a look of, well, something a touch more irritable. Don’t yell. Don’t yell.

One hand reached up to pinch at the bridge of his nose as if this might somehow lessen that annoyance within him. That heavy sigh parting his lips as he managed to ask just how broken that lamp was. Great. He was going to have to spend the afternoon gluing together some cheap ten dollar lamp. Serafina’s assurance that it was, in fact, broken-broken saw that scowl only deepen once more. Azrael affording his girlfriend a momentarily dubious look. Of course it was. Because just chipping it would be too fucking easy. He moved to step past her then with another sigh, the Hunter heading for those stairs and upper floor with the clear determination to at least try and repair the situation. Azrael pausing suddenly beside her to let his lips press to her cheek in that sweet, simple touch of affection. The man hardly unaware of how quickly her own agitation left her in the wake of it. Hmmm, maybe he should remember that. The man strolling past several paces before letting those teasing words find her. Azrael content to afford her an ‘average’ grade for her performance today. That alone successfully riling the young witch once more as was entirely his intention. The woman rounding on him to declare she had gotten him inside in the end. Azrael’s shoulders merely shrugging as he continued up those stairs. His words entirely playful.

“I suppose. Still, it was a sub-par performance. Are you really happy with that?”

Serafina, when it came to her work in the least, the work he pretended he hardly knew occurred- was a decided perfectionist. She was so entirely like him in that regard and the seriousness with which she took her job that finding ways to tease her with implications of poor performance was all too easy. He took those steps readily, the man stepping into that mess of a room a moment later, those papers scattered in all directions, those walls just about bowing under the weight of the sheer amount of crap pinned to them declaring the world was sure to end and that several specific individuals were surely going to bring it about. He was almost tempted to photograph that and text it to Alexander if only to annoy the other hunter. Then again- it might well only please the man. Azrael snorting softly in that consideration as he bent to search through that mess to pick up the pieces of the lamp. The soft sound of Serafina stepping into the room behind him saw the Hunter briefly turn, his shoulder colliding with another stack of those papers and send them tumbling to the ground like a paper snowstorm. Those words already on his lips well before Sera could offer that comment he knew she was but seconds from giving him. The woman proclaiming her innocence a moment later as he turned to face her, one eye arching upwards as he chuckled.

“Oh yes you would.”

Those papers were hastily stacked into some semblance of order before the hunter returned to gathering that lamp from the utter chaos that was this room as a whole, his golden gaze lingering briefly on his girlfriend as she perused those walls. Azrael attempting to offer something of an explanation for that man who’d once been a truly good hunter- before his slip into what most of the Council, himself included, seemed to believe was obvious madness or some sort of PTSD from too many years on the job and not enough vacation time. The Council constantly threatening Azrael himself with reminders of ‘look what happened to Jack’ every time he passed up on that annual holiday leave. Maybe he’d take it this year. Hell, maybe he could take Sera somewhere for Christmas. His thoughts were briefly interrupted by the woman’s own words. Serafina hardly as dismissive of that illogical wall-scribbling as Azrael himself. The man allowing his eyes to roll with that soft snort at the very idea that it might be anything other than complete nonsense.

“There’s a damn big difference between volatile and…..that.”

He waved his hand towards what appeared to be some sort of drawing of a collision of the plants themselves largely focused around a picture of Alexander along with several other world events and a list of atrocities Jack had predicted for the future. Azrael content to dismiss all of it. The man hardly prone to those….alternate beliefs in life. Serafina’s comment about the significance of cats managing to prompt that quirk of his lip all the same. Frankly he’d be surprised if any cat he knew could be bothered to get the fuck out of bed for long enough to bring about the worlds destruction. That lamp was finally gathered up and into his arms, the man content to carry it downstairs in some vague belief he might at least be able to hide it somewhere or something. Azrael spying that package on the table as he did, his hand no sooner having grasped it then that sound off gravel beneath wheels saw his gaze lift upward. Great. Fucking great. He was home. The hunter glancing down at that lamp in his arms again before spinning back towards Sera now in some hope the woman could…well….magic it away or repair it or something. Wasn’t that what witches did? The young witch fixing him with what appeared to be something of a glare- as if he’d asked her to magic him a new limb or something. His own eyebrows lifted upward at that query of what he was expecting her to do- that exasperated look finding his features then. Those words holding a slight sarcastic touch to that exasperation.

“Oh, I don’t know, with fucking magic? Are you telling me you can summon me with a voodoo doll from god knows how far away and create some sort of damn amazing ice fort but you can’t fix a lamp? I’m surprised you witches survived this long.”

It was near a mutter then, Azrael hardly meaning those words with any true fierceness, he never did. The man disappearing from sight only to reappear in front of that sink near filled to the brim with days-old dishwater. The Hunter promptly dropping that lamp within it and watching it sink beneath the surface. Well. At least it was gone. Serafina’s near scolding tone seeing the Hunter glance apologetically back towards her as his arms folded across his chest.

“Well I'm sorry but one of us had to do something. It’ll be weeks before he finds that and he won’t remember us being here by then."

It was like the world hated him. He was almost sure of it. Anything that could go wrong inevitably did. The man making his way back to Sera then as he effortlessly allowed that soft glow of light to surround her, dulling it down until it was barely visible and yet hiding that supernatural signature that surrounded her all the same. Jack might not have hunted in a few decades but Azrael hardly saw the need to tempt him. Especially not where Serafina was concerned. For all he fought with that woman he…..adored her. Far, far too much to risk her becoming injured. That sudden soft admittance as Jack strode onto the front porch that she had also broken the coffee table seeing both his eyes suddenly widen.

The word was very near a whisper beneath his breath. Azrael forced to close his jaw with an audible click. The man near convinced he had developed an eye twitch with the effort to keeping himself contained in that moment. His features hurriedly rearranging into a more…neutral look as Jack swung open that door. The man who entered barely reaching Azrael’s own shoulder in height, his dark hair peppered with grey even despite the fact he barely looked a day over forty. The other Hunter clearly not expecting to find people within his home as he stepped back almost hurriedly before that wide grin broke out. ”Alekai! Good of you to come lad, good of you to come and oh, oh you’ve brought someone. It’s about time. Who is she? Hello, dear.” Azrael could hardly help the fashion in which his lip turned downward at that use of his proper name, the Hunter rarely ever choosing to go by it outside of any formal affair, his hand extending to shake Jack’s own all the same.

“This is Serafina, my girlfriend. We just came to pick up the package- we were just on our way out.”

The sooner they got out of here the better. Azrael fitting his hand within Sera’s own to guide her towards the door. Jack evidently not nearly about to let the first guests he had in years leave quite so quickly. The older man suddenly seeming panicked at the idea.I hope your prepared, Alek. For when it comes. It’s coming and you are part of it, just like Alexander and the panther and the others and her. Jack proceeded to point to Serafina then, Azrael struggling not to roll his eyes once more as his patience continued to draw decidedly thin for this nonsense. The man inquiring then, even despite his better judgement;

“What’s coming, Jack?”

The end Alekai! Everything points to it. Everything. The stars are aligned. War will break out. There will be blood in the streets. Vampires and Faeries will take over Europe and Were’s and Witches will fill the city streets- but you can stop them still! There is still time! You and Sera and the others can save us all. The near dubious look on Azrael’s features only seemed to enflame the man all the more as he shoved past them with that assurance he had proof of just that. Azrael hardly choosing to waste any longer talking to the fool of a man as he gestured towards the door, content to gently guide Serafina with him as he did.

“We gotta run Jack, take care of yourself, ok?”

The sooner they got to the car the better. Azrael near contemplating racing them both to it as Jack hurried out behind them, near thrusting a book into his arms with that proof he ‘had to read’ as the Hunter swung that car door open for Sera once more while attempting to assure the older man he would. That alone seeming to satisfy him enough to send him back into his house as Azrael revved that engine to life, that book passed to Sera to hold as he did. What happened to my coffee table? The words near echoed out of the door as Azrael hurriedly put his foot to that accelerator, the man casting a look towards Serafina all the same. Thank god they had gotten out of their before the man had found that. Bloody hell what a morning! He was silent for those few moments then as he pulled from that dirt driveway and back onto the highway. Azrael casting a glance towards the little witch all the same. His features softening readily now. His gaze brushing over her to assure himself she was entirely alright.

“You know he’s talking nonsense don’t you? None of that bullshit he was going on about is real. There isn’t going to be any war or anything. He’s been saying that for twenty years.”

Why he was trying to reassure the woman he hardly knew and yet it somehow felt….necessary all the same. The hunter hardly wanting his girlfriend to worry. Azrael rested one arm on the window as the other remained on that steering wheel then. The man making some effort to direct her thoughts away from those 'prophices'.

“What’s in that book he gave us anyway?”
