    Hawethorn Village

Settled in the middle of downtown, Hawethorn Village consists of several victorian inspired row houses just off the main street. Due to it's convenience to just about everything, the village can be a tad expensive to live within. However, the residents of this neighborhood often have two to three story townhouses, often with a one to two car garage. Many of the houses feature bay windows and/or rooftop terraces.

death incarnate & night triumphant

The constant shifting of Lani’s scent is distracting, Andras entirely aware of every movement and every breath the woman was taking. It was easy to decipher the way she was feeling simply by her scent. The moment her parents came knocking, that nervousness seemed to wash off her in waves, Andras hardly having a moment to comfort her before that door is opened and introductions are being made. There seems to be a sense of relief from the woman, though the high lord isn’t entirely sure, after he introduces himself to Zameir. It was clear her father would be the one that needed a little extra charming, not that Andras minded, he rather liked the challenge. Though, he did have to admit he immediately took a liking to Zameir, the man not nearly as open and trusting as his wife. The man had a sense of protectiveness regarding his daughter and yet, it wasn’t overbearing, he knew the boundaries of his daughter. Once he returns to Lani’s side, he allows those smooth words to fall from dark lips, noting the way that blush so finds the woman’s cheeks once more. Providing her a knowing look, he doesn’t comment but instead suggests they sit down for drinks.

Lani is quick to head off into the kitchen, hunting down those glasses for the wine while Andras takes a seat with her parents. Conversation is quickly shifted towards himself, something he had expected though he hardly wanted to talk much about himself, he much rather would like to get to know her parents instead. Lani’s words echo over his shoulder as Zameir begins his interrogation, the faerie merely quirking a smile at the man, he glances briefly over his shoulder to Lani arching his brows at her. “I don’t mind,” he replies easily, casting her a sly wink before returning his attention to Zameir and answering the question directed at him. Lani’s father hardly misses a beat, the next question rolling off his tongue immediately after Andras finishes replying, the Fae merely allowing that easy going smile to remain in place, “I’ve been in this city for over a year, I own a townhouse here and spend a lot of my time within the city, though I have to admit, I travel overseas frequently but am typically only gone a few days at a time. A week at the most,” he casually states.

“Believe it or not, I don’t move around terribly much. I have the townhouse here in the city and another residence overseas. Before Sacrosanct, I had never purchased another home before,” he explains with a gesture of his hand. Ruth’s interruption saves him from having to explain further, his dark hazel eyes turning on the mother, Andras infinitely amused in that moment. His grin broadens in a subtle way as Ruth slaps Zameir’s shoulder, the two were comfortable around each other, only a life spent together could produce such a thing. “Mrs. Rose, it’s truly not a bother. If I had a daughter I would do the same thing,” he states chuckling, though he can already feel the conversation shifting away from him. It’s Ruth’s next words that have his ears peeking up, a bit of curiosity coloring those hazel eyes as a name is finally put to the boy Lani had dated all those years ago. Andras would be lying if he didn’t feel a wave of jealousy roar through him, though he keeps it perfectly hidden behind that easy smile that so constantly pulled at his lips since the parents walked through the door.

Before he can get a word in, Lani is flushed pink with embarrassment, her words dancing across the table as Andras casts another glance at her. Instead of embarrassing her further, he shifts their conversation to the parents, Zameir quick to answer. Clearly, his answer wasn’t enough as Ruth pipes up, stroking the man’s ego in that moment. Quirking a grin, Andras arches a brow with interest, “Oh? Perhaps you would allow me to take a look at your work sometime. I do need a new table for the townhouse,” he muses thoughtfully. As they discuss varied things, Ruth seems to be the more chatty one of the two, though, Andras has entirely suspected such a thing. When Andras glances back at Lani, he doesn’t miss the feeling of eyes on his frame. When his attention returns to the parents, he glances at Zameir long enough to hold his gaze before Lani is sitting down next to him once more. “There are a lot of hidden gems in Sacrosanct as far as food goes, perhaps next time you two come to town we could show you around and play tourist,” he suggests casually before sipping at the wine in front of him.

As the conversation shifts once more, they begin discussing what fun could be had within WIllowhaven, Ruth’s constant use of the term ‘lamb’ amusing Andras to no end. It was such a fitting term for the woman, Andras tucking away that endearing name to use at a later time. Refocusing his attention on Ruth, he smiles at her genuinely, “I’m from a very rural area, growing up entirely in the wilderness. I would love to accompany you,” he states before turning towards Zameir and questioning him. Clearly he had struck gold as the man begins to explain his encounters with wild animals, pride coloring his voice, but more importantly the man seems to relax a bit in his presence. Apparently his vague answers were enough for the man. As the timer goes off, Andras excuses himself and turns to the kitchen, quickly plating up the dinner, merely nodding his head towards Lani as she thanks him. When he returns to the table he places the plates in front of everyone before taking a seat, thanking Lani for the meal. Her response draws a crooked smile from Andras, “I’ll always make time for you,” he tosses her a wink before munching at the food again. Mother and daughter exchange conversation when Zameir finally turns to Andras and openly questions him.

Putting his fork down, he doesn’t miss a beat, “I love to fly,” he states honestly, knowing Zameir would think he was talking about helicopters or planes, “Its my favorite pastime, there’s something about soaring through the sky that always settles me,” he says, a faint smile so toying at his lips before he quickly finishes his plate and his glass of wine. “That was perfect,” he muses, tilting his head to Lani and noting that everyone else was finishing up quickly. Casually, as the parents were distracted with finishing up their own food, Andras slips a hand under the table, his finger tips brushing against Lani’s thigh, massaging at her leg. “You said you liked camping, have you done much backpacking?” He questions as his hand sneaks higher up Lani’s leg, gently and teasingly, though he’s entirely careful to make it look like his hand is merely casually relaxed on his leg.
