if these wings could fly for the rest of our lives
There were several things that a King absolutely must have, as far as Abigail was concerned. They always had super fancy palaces. They had a white horse and a pretty super shiny sword. They had a cape, a lady to rescue (a facet she was willing to alter to suite Arlo’s vampire friend), and a crown. Come to think of it, Dorian was lacking rather a lot as a King. He had a palace, or so he suggested but she had yet to see his pony and his sword and his cape and his crown. Maybe he was a poor King. Did that exist? Surely that must exist. In fact, she was rather caught up on this whole, what actually made a King, that the girl was rather quick to blurt out the lack of that golden object on his head that made him seem distinctly….casual. After all, that crown was by far the most important bit of it all, wasn’t it? She could hardly help that hum of consideration that left her sweetheart lips at that inquiry of where a king would keep a crown. A slender finger rose to her lips in consideration of her best friend’s inquiry. “No, I don’t think so, aren't the supposed to have pretty gemstones in it? I don’t think you’d want to put that on a hat rack.” She shook her head quite firmly. No, it had to be in a special place. Maybe that’s why he didn’t wear it? It was too special? Or were they not special enough of an occasion?

A small frown crossed the young woman’s features as she considered whether or not the fae King and Mr. Chocolate man liked them. Were they promising to invite them over again just to be polite? Maybe she had been a bit too….enthusiastic. That small hint of worry filled the young woman as she abruptly inquired as to whether or not Sebastian and Dorian enjoyed their presence as much as she had certainly enjoyed having an adult dinner party with the two men. That small shrug was hardly as reassuring as Abigail would have liked and yet, Arlo did have a good point. They had gone out of their way to ensure the pair had an invitation to that Royal Wedding at the end of the evening. Surely that meant they still enjoyed their company after it all? Slowly, the young woman’s head bobbed in agreement. “That’s true…” She commented, her voice trailing off as they neared those gates. “It’ll be fun to go to Italy.” The girl announced abruptly and yet, truly, she was rather looking forward to this trip in a foreign country. Hopefully, Arlo wouldn’t mind being her sightseeing friend - after all, she wanted to see everything!

It was the presence of that press and those photographers that chased away any thoughts of their upcoming trip. Though that crowd had thinned significantly since they had first battled them into that estate, Abigail still found herself near anxious as those gates were opened for them. She near clung to Arlo’s hand as he led them through those photographers and back to the safety of the sidewalk. A soft breath of relief left her lips, her own grip loosening upon him only for Arlo to quickly release her hand but several moments later. Abigail, quite frankly, hardly thought much of it. Rather, her fingers intertwined within one another, her heels echoing upon the sidewalk. It was cold, even for the were. Maybe she should have brought a jacket…hm…Arlo was rather quiet. Her hazel eyes slowly slid towards the man and yet, Arlo seemed quite lost in his own thoughts, at least, until he near abruptly inquired if they could talk. Ah! Those fated words! These were not good ones, in fact, these words served to make the girl worried. They have a good night, hadn’t they? She couldn’t think of anything that might have made Arlo upset. A small frown crossed her lips as she uttered that singular word of acceptance, her gait slowed to a halt as the girl watched him intently.

That question of whether or not she enjoyed his company was one the girl answered quite quickly, only for Abigail to turn that question back upon Arlo himself. He enjoyed her company too, right? That sudden insistence that those nights she spent with him were his favorite, however, brought a small simper to the young woman’s features, only for the girl to inquire whether or not he was okay. Something was clearly up, her Arlo never acted like this! Her head slowly tilted to the side as the man tripped over his own words, that hesitance once again clear upon the man. “Just?” Abigail inquired as if gently prompting the vampire onward. Her green-brown eyes met those strikingly vibrant blue ones of Arlo’s own, her eyebrows furrowed in her own ever increasing worry. He seemed keen to inform her, again, that he truly did enjoy his time with her tonight, and every night they were together, only to inquire if she wanted to go out with him.

She stared at him in silence.

Abigail hardly expected the way that he so quickly tried to fill the air between them, insisting that he’d still be her best friend no matter what she said and that he’d get over it no matter what. Her gaze slowly shifted away from the man and towards the area around them with a small hint of confusion.

Weren’t they already out?

Did he expect them to just spend all their evening inside? Didn’t they go out a lot? Was he wanting to go out more? Why was this something he seemed so worried about? “Arlo…I…arn’t we already out - ohhhhhhhh…..” It took her a moment to really make sense of what he was asking her. At least, to what she thought he was asking her. After all, it didn’t make sense if he was just asking to go outside more….right? That seemed so silly, wasn’t it? But….was Arlo really asking to…date her? Her?! She could hardly help the way she bit her bottom lip in a small glimpse of sudden nervousness. She couldn’t believe he truly was interested in dating her! He was like….a super rock star and she was a no one from some foreign place overseas that most people didn’t even know existed! She was pretty certain that he could get prettier better girls than her, especially after his new show with Dorian and Sebastian. Then they’d be flocking to him after he made his band all over again! Did he…really like her like that? He did tell her that she was pretty tonight….and…well….Dorian was kind of right in that she sort of liked him like that too, even if she tried really really hard not to. God, dating couple usually did like…so much together! Even Abigail was aware of how inexperienced she was and how…well…experienced he must be.

“I’ve…never dated anyone before.” The young girl admitted with some hesitation, altogether certain that Arlo deserved to know exactly what he was getting himself into. Her hazel eyes slowly drifted downwards with marked uncertainty. “Um…if…I say yes and…you decide you don’t like going out with me….um….will you still be my friend?” Abigail inquired, her voice near akin to a squeak in that near vulnerability. The last thing that Abigail wanted was to mess up their friendship. Arlo was the closest friend she’d ever had. She didn’t want to lose him just because she didn’t know how to be a good girlfriend.
