    The West

The western part of the city is often home to the poorer residents. Here there is a certain grunge that permeates the town from the graffiti on the once cleaned brick buildings to the broken and unmaintained architecture. Crime runs high within the western half of town, making it the home of supernatural gangs of illicit activities. Such activities are rarely reported however, and most residents are distrustful of individual's of authorities, instead letting the powerful supernatural beings sort things out amongst themselves. Be careful wandering the Western streets after the sun falls.

    Noah's Ark

Resting upon the harbor, Noah's Ark appears to be little more than an abandoned cargo ship. Accessible from an entrance hidden in the shadows, The Ark is a veritable Were-playground that specializes in fighting tournaments for all creatures great and small. With both singles and doubles tournaments to compete in, the title of Ark Champion is hotly contested amongst the Were population. If anything illegal is going on in the city it's sure to be happening within the back rooms or behind the ring-side bar.

God I want to Dream Again199.204.116.34Posted On November 06, 2017 at 6:58 AM by Calliel Alosi

“Oh come on, you know that was a good one!”

I responded in jest my tone carrying a tinge of pride. I mean I had said everything perfectly! I had the serious look on my face, my voice didn’t waver as I spoke with such sincerity. I could have broken character, I could have flubbed the names, but I didn’t! His eye roll was enough to provide me the subtle show of praise that I know I fully deserved. I may lack a lover in my life, but I still got my jokes…and that’s something. Okay so, maybe that isn’t the best thing in the world, but at least I have a bit of humor and I’m not some wet blanket. I am sheer delight to be around with…sometimes…when I’m in the right mood. And right now after a couple of drinks I feel like I’m on cloud nine. Haven’t been in a good mood like this in a very long time, and I’m not saying I’m a mind reader or anything, but I got a sneaky suspicion that maybe he’s been down for quite a while too. It’s not my place to poke around. After all that seems kind of devious, you know? Your enemy’s creation asking you about deep, dark, or emotional stuff, to get more information on you, and turnaround and use it against you. And I know I have no ties to Frost, but still I get it, it doesn’t bother me that I can’t be trusted at this point. Hell, there’s a tiny voice in the back of my head telling me to be careful, although I can’t tell if it’s about him, or it’s about the amount of liquor I’m drinking. Hard to tell when my mind is not quite right. His comment about life not worth living if I couldn’t have certain animal products, was answered with an affirmed and fervently nod.

“I wholeheartedly agree. However, if there comes a day I can’t have milk, eggs, or cheese, just take me out…do me that kind service.”

Now I know I am saying this in jest, but like seriously. If you’re telling me I can’t have ice cream, or queso, or a freakin damn omelet, just take me out right then and there. Being a horse sucks. I hate being a horse. Just the talk about me being unable to eat meat just brought back those feelings of not liking my other half, that I had zero interest of becoming in the first place. Thank God indeed I can still eat that stuff. The invitation to join his pack was something I wasn’t expecting. I mean I belong to the other Alpha even if I’m no longer in his pack. It would be weird. Maybe if things died down between the two it might be a good thing. Tetradore is a predator so I don’t think he understands just how I feel or what my mind is saying. A prey animal living with predators really does make my heart beat a bit too fast and makes me feel all nervous. It’s stupid, I know. Human side of me is saying get over it. Horsey side of me is saying ‘we could die.’ So, you know, my mind is a fantastic place to be in right now. But I let him down easy. I didn’t shut the door completely. I mean maybe I could later on, when both parts of my mind can come to an agreement. I want to though…I don’t think he realizes how badly I wish to belong somewhere and be in a large group…I mean…I need that. I just can’t, not right now, not yet at least. He doesn’t seem too upset about it, so I guess that’s a good thing. I mean I’d rather not have an angry Were-King upset with me for not accepting his offer, but maybe I want to see a look of disappointment? I don’t know I can hardly dissect this stuff anymore, I need another drink.

Can’t take a drink just yet. I need to make sure this icing is good. Jesus I hope it’s okay. Stirring the icing around to ensure it gets smoother I cannot help, but show a concern look on my face. I mean this could go wrong and if it did then I screwed up. Who wants a cake without icing? Besides I could try again, but I know that wouldn’t be fun or ideal. Stopping for a moment I stare at the icing intently. It looks okay, but does it taste good? Before I could test it, it seems the panther has the same thing in mind. Apprehensively I watch as be brings the glob of icing to his lips, waiting with a bated breath for his decision. Because clearly his decision is final. His voice of approval was answered with a soft sigh of relief. Woo hoo, I didn’t screw it up! I doubt very seriously he would notice the look of relief on my face. As he is setting the baked cake on the stove I busy myself with fixing our drinks, because we clearly need a little bit more. The hard part is done. The cake has been baked and now it’s being cooled off. The icing was made. Now we wait for the cake’s surface to cool off, and then we can slap on the icing, and finally devour into the cake. There’s no need to put candles on it and sing me some sort of song. I always found it creepy. The lights are down and everyone is circled around the birthday person and the table with the cake, the candles being the only light as everyone sings or chants ‘Happy Birthday’. Then such a ritual is ended with the candles blown out and some brings out a knife to cut the ‘sacrifice’ open. Yep, it’s all too weird. As he leaps up on the countertop, I move off just a little tiny bit so he has room enough to get settled. That questioning of the game I had in mind was met with a small grin, not a devious one, but a polite one. I know this game can take an ugly turn or a rather fun one, but I have no interest in detouring our path…this is just going to be an easy and simple fun. Nothing scary, I swear! That I would get wasted by the end of the game was met with an innocent look. Well, I mean yea duh. That’s what you do…that’s the whole point. That and to find out who in your group of friends is the craziest or the dirtiest and like…you can learn a lot from people with this one game…things you never knew and things you never wanted to know…ever. With a shrug I simply nod and proclaim that I, a horse that was created by his enemy was capable of giving him the benefit of the doubt in this situation.

“True, but I trust you enough to not let me do something stupid.”

I mean anything could happen, but I am fairly certain I’m going to be safe and sound with the King of the West. What could go wrong? Probably shouldn’t have said that in my mind, because now I let that out in the universe. I take that back. Everything is going to go swell! At least, I hope it will. I can’t help, but give him a genuine look of surprise as he admits he never rode a roller coaster. This is sad. I cannot allow this. Taking a drink to admit that I have indeed ridden on one, I give him an encouraging grin.

“I don’t know where, but I’m taking you to a theme park. You look like the type that would enjoy roller coasters. They go extremely fast, you can twist and turn, go upside down…it’s a ton of fun!”

I couldn’t help, but wave my arm into a wave, moving it up and down as I mimicked the moves that the roller coaster could take. I even titled my hand and arm back to make it appear like one of those loops, to imply that the ride could go backwards. This would be a lot of fun going to a theme park! All the rides, each one different, each one jerking you around, the exhilarating rush of the wind in your hair, and how your stomach falls down with you when the coaster slams down head first on the first big drop. Yep, he needs to experience this. Studying him momentarily, partly to see what I could pin him on, and partly for me to figure out what I wanted to say next. What is it that he has done that I’ve never done before? Decisions…decisions.

“Never have I ever…broken a limb.”
