    The West

The western part of the city is often home to the poorer residents. Here there is a certain grunge that permeates the town from the graffiti on the once cleaned brick buildings to the broken and unmaintained architecture. Crime runs high within the western half of town, making it the home of supernatural gangs of illicit activities. Such activities are rarely reported however, and most residents are distrustful of individual's of authorities, instead letting the powerful supernatural beings sort things out amongst themselves. Be careful wandering the Western streets after the sun falls.

    Noah's Ark

Resting upon the harbor, Noah's Ark appears to be little more than an abandoned cargo ship. Accessible from an entrance hidden in the shadows, The Ark is a veritable Were-playground that specializes in fighting tournaments for all creatures great and small. With both singles and doubles tournaments to compete in, the title of Ark Champion is hotly contested amongst the Were population. If anything illegal is going on in the city it's sure to be happening within the back rooms or behind the ring-side bar.

Kathryn Quinn
I bet on me and my own heartbeat

She had known, once upon a time. She had been born with the gifts of air and fire. She had played with the wind like most little girls play with barbie dolls. Kathryn had been born with a hunger for knowledge and a natural talent for magic. She could make kites fly with no breeze, she would light camp fires for her family that were always the perfect temperature. Some of her tricks she was taught through training, other tricks she taught herself. Due to her magic and the sometime unpredictability of it, Kathryn had been home-schooled for pre school and kindergarten, to ward off prying eyes. It was during this time that Kathryn had lived with her mother and her grandparents. Her mother had been a near constant in her life at this point, having no job, she looked after Kathryn, and she was a good mother, attentive, loving, stern when need be, and imaginative. The little witch hadn't cared that she didn't have any friends, because she had her best friend ever: her mother.

But it all changed one day when her powers had fused.
Air and fire do not mix.

“Uhh yeah,” she responds, still caught off guard by the fact that someone was willingly going to marry this guy who had hints of serial killer lingering in the depths of his blue eyes. But she cannot hear a response or say any other comment that no doubt would have been witty and sarcastic as seemed the theme this evening. The man (prisoner) interrupts, talking about bringing Eve into the world. Blue eyes like frost shift back and forth from Damon to the strange man. “Who is Eve?” She asks demandingly, getting exceedingly more tired of being kept in the dark on things. Kathryn too noted Damon’s frustration with the man building, blue eyes flicker to him briefly and suddenly she is thankful that Damon decided not to turn on Kathryn, but instead use her an..ally? Should we say? But Kathryn suddenly thinks that she would not want to be caught on the wrong side of Damon. He was dangerous, and it begs the question again, why hadn't he done anything to her yet?

She ignores whatever the strange man, now she realizes that is named Ezekial, has to say, because he will say anything in an attempt to convince the witch and vampire that kidnapping is okay, but Kathryn, with the strong moral compass she posses, is not hearing a single word of it. As Kathryn removes the man’s ability to breathe, she keeps eyes contact with him, fearing if she looks away her power will break. But honestly, she doesn't even know what she is doing at this point. She just felt an urge come over her and she acted on it. Damon jumps in as the good other bad cop and demands to know where the man’s coven is as Kathryn relinquishes her hold on Ezekial’s air supply. “Why don't you answer his question, or do we enjoy not breathing?” She says, an empty threat, though she puts on an all too convincing front. Kathryn didn't know what she had just done and she wasn't too sure she could repeat the gesture. So hopefully, this man starts talking soon.
