East

The east side of the city is the very heart of Sacrosanct - it's unique skyline is a clash between modern sky rises and small Victorian-inspired storefronts. In the heart of downtown, the sleek colored glass buildings reign supreme though their old-world roots can be seen in the most peculiar places from the lamp post styled electric street light to the stone sidewalks. The old world architecture slowly returns the further from downtown you travel, however. It's here that magic thrives, it hums in every stone and can be felt in every breath. Often, newcomers to the city may become overwhelmed by such sensations but, eventually, it becomes an ever-present feeling that's hardly noticed.

i hear the footsteps inside of me
Malek studies her carefully as she prowls through the crowd to him, tilting his head at her he takes another swig of his drink and inches closer into her personal space. The easiest way to make people uncomfortable in his presence is to give them as little space as possible, therefore as he sidles towards the end of his seat towards her there is but a few inches between them. He has hopes to make it very difficult to look at anyone but him in their close quarters. Flashing a lazy grin at her he drops his gaze to her slender fingers circling the wetness left behind from a drink.

Giving a small incline of his head towards the comment, he eyes her for a moment before turning and snagging to bartender, "How about a drink for the lady? She will have what I'm having," he calls out and returns his attention back to the hunter. Another move on Malek's behalf, taking away her options. Smiling at her, he scratches his chin, "Now, what's all this about?" he asks gruffly. It isn't long before the bartender returns with another round of whiskey and the woman begins to speak.

He isn't surprised when she announces herself from the council nor the fact that she knew his name. He had, had dealings with the council over his long life, some pleasant while others were not. "My, so many questions," he chuckles lightly taking another drink before responding and just for fun, he decides to increase his affinity slightly. Waiting for her reaction before he continues, "I am the oldest vampire in this city, of course you should be frightened of me," he pauses to get her attention.

"However, I have not drank from a human nor have a killed anyone in the last two hundred years," his words flow off his tongue with his English accent. "And, my dear, if you truly wanted to know if I were single, you needn't have come under the guise that the council sent you," he winks at her in a teasing manner, referring to her question of traveling alone. "Humor aside, yes, I am alone. I have no interest in joining a coven but I have had been inquired about from the local coven," he answers honestly.

Setting his drink on the table he leans in just a touch more, nearly a head taller than her in his seated position, "Have I answered all your questions, my dear?" he narrows his eyes slightly, a smirk tugging at the corner of his mouth, "Perhaps you will grace my ears with your name," he suggests rather than asks.
