East

The east side of the city is the very heart of Sacrosanct - it's unique skyline is a clash between modern sky rises and small Victorian-inspired storefronts. In the heart of downtown, the sleek colored glass buildings reign supreme though their old-world roots can be seen in the most peculiar places from the lamp post styled electric street light to the stone sidewalks. The old world architecture slowly returns the further from downtown you travel, however. It's here that magic thrives, it hums in every stone and can be felt in every breath. Often, newcomers to the city may become overwhelmed by such sensations but, eventually, it becomes an ever-present feeling that's hardly noticed.

The Ripper

William Jack Holloway

This was a waste of his time. Everything about following the Grand Duchess had been a waste of his precious time, and as such he wasted no time in making sure everyone in the room knew exactly how disgruntled he was with the entire situation. He shifted then as he watched the pair of Hunters talk about him as though he wasn't there at all. His arms crossed across his chest, and he kept the scowl on his features. It was only that continued insistence that he wouldn't allow the Council to control him that seemed to gather any attention from the pair. The Duke paid no attention to the elder man - he cared precious little for him at all - and instead focused on the emerald eyes of his companion. She was beautiful, even if she was the current source of his annoyance. Blimey, he should leave. And yet he remained seated and rather sulky. It was only her words that gathered any of his attention, the promise that his sullenness would somehow make it easy to control him. With a roll of his eyes, he looked away.

He had every right to be sullen. After all, every facet of his life that he thought he'd held any control over was continually pulled out from under him. He thought he could control the type of life he'd lead in England - only to have that violently torn from him by one ruthless little vampire. He thought he could choose where and how he wanted to live - only to be chased continuously across the globe by people who wanted to turn him into a ruthless killer. And tonight, he'd simply wanted to unwind with alcohol and the promise of promiscuous women, only to have that so torn from him and have him ending up within this stupid place with two Hunters who looked like they'd rather tear him apart than actually care for him. And he wasn't allowed to be sullen and sulk? Still, his brown hued eyes trailed back to the woman at the promise that his night would have ended differently had she tried to arrest him. "You're right. I would have killed you."

William found that he cared little for how that might have sounded to the other two. In fact, he was just about done sitting here when the elder man finally took it upon himself to speak to William - in a manner that was... not quite kind... but not belittling either. Will's gaze slid to him, though his arms remained crossed across his chest. "Well I'm glad you have even the littlest bit of taste." He sighed. He was sure that anyone affiliated with the Council was worthless and a complete danger to himself. "As for helping me, I don't see how I..." He started, trailing off as the man continued to speak and dismiss his value. Yeah, that was exactly what he expected. Why would this man want to help him? He was a manic murderer, was he not? He merely remained content to dwell in those thoughts until the man spoke once more, quite literally showing him the door.

And William should get up and he should have walked right out that door. And yet he found himself unable to do so. Instead, his gaze fell entirely on Anastasia. "If I were to agree to your help," William said slowly, finally letting his arms fall to his sides once more and his posture relaxed just a bit. His words were directed only at Anastasia. Because, frankly, he cared for her opinion even if he couldn't explain why. "What exactly would you want from me?" He flicked his gaze back to Alexander, biting his lip gently. "I won't use my power for you. I can't control it. I won't... I won't hurt anyone else."

But darling -- it's only human nature.
