East

The east side of the city is the very heart of Sacrosanct - it's unique skyline is a clash between modern sky rises and small Victorian-inspired storefronts. In the heart of downtown, the sleek colored glass buildings reign supreme though their old-world roots can be seen in the most peculiar places from the lamp post styled electric street light to the stone sidewalks. The old world architecture slowly returns the further from downtown you travel, however. It's here that magic thrives, it hums in every stone and can be felt in every breath. Often, newcomers to the city may become overwhelmed by such sensations but, eventually, it becomes an ever-present feeling that's hardly noticed.

The thug is getting pissed pretty fast. I guess that's what happens when you barge into a burger joint on an empty stomach and start seeing delusions of a good looking man everywhere. Okay, so maybe I'm just playing around with him like a cat batting a very confused mouse, but I'm quite enjoying myself and at least no one has gotten hurt yet.

I haven't even taken the time to really look around the place and take a role call on all the humans probably staring dumbfounded at the show. Probably not the best way to stay downwind of hunters either but the cat's already out of the bag now. Besides, I'm not seeing any bows or stakes being drawn out just yet and no guns either. Come on, people. Doesn't anyone believe in guns rights anymore? I thought humans were better survivors than this.

My attention turns back to the thug when I hear a gunshot and see one of my clones disappear in a whisp of smoke, the one that had been standing right next to the thug. I guess that one freaked him out the most and now he's trigger happy, just wanting all of me to disappear so he can go back to robbing the diner. He points at the clone behind the register next, shooting him into a puff of smoke too before training his gun back on me. I put up my arms in a surrender gesture, that cocky lop sided smirk still on my lips as I take a step back. "Okay, okay, you got me. Just having a bit of fun. No one needs to get hurt, right?"

It distracts him just long enough for a clone to give him a nasty right hook from left field, sending the man spinning into the counter with a heavy grunt. He straightens up slowly, shaking his head and groaning and the clone knees him in the gut, sending him reeling over with a gasp of pain. I walk over to the man slowly, whistling before I grab the back of his collar and haul him up and turn him to the humans who are still present in the diner. "That's what you get for being so rude. Not apologize to the nice customers for ruining their meals." I knew he wasn't going to, of course. I just like playing with my prey.

He suddenly lurches his head back, cracking me in the nose which hurts like a bitch and I release his collar to bend over groaning and holding my face. Then I feel the crack of my jaw as he upper cuts me, sending me reeling over the counter to land pretty much on top of the unconscious cashier. I hear her grunt in pain and I wince just as much from hoping I didn't hurt her to the actual pain circulating through my body right now. I know my nose is broken but it'll heal soon enough so it's none of my concern, as long as it stays straight. My jaw is probably cracked too but still not that much of a concern. I can still talk so no big harm right?

I put my hand to my jaw, moving it back and forth experimentally as I try to rub out the pain, slowly getting to my feet but the man has already jumped on the counter, aiming the gun at my head. I snort before kicking at the side of the counter, successfully breaking the wooden support so the counter top comes crashing down with him on it. I roll away as he topples down beside me, pulling the cashier out of his path so she doesn't have to overcome anymore drama than she's already been through. I see the man feeling around for his gun so I lean over to hook him in the side of the head, sending it crashing to the tiled floor with a heavy thunk. While he's out of it, I take a moment to pull back his hood, revealing a pretty normal looking guy.

"Hm." I furrow my brow in puzzlement. He sure doesn't hit like a human. No fangs though and I can see his veins thrumming on his neck from here. I know he's not a fairy or I would have picked up on my own kind. Not a Were either. No animal musk to his scent. So that leaves only one thing and I pull back the long sleeve of his hoodie to reveal a glowing metal bracelet on his wrist. Aha, warlock, it is. I grasp the bracelet and yank it off his wrist, breaking it in half before tossing it to the ground. Must be a charm of some kind, maybe a strength spell? Whatever it is, it hurts like hell. I know my nose is swollen and probably still a little crooked. Damn him if he messes up my pretty face. My jaw is practically throbbing. I rub it once more before looking up and noticing I have a small audience gathered.

I offer a small smirk and wave. "Dinner's on me tonight. Hope you enjoyed the skit. Totally rehearsed."
