East

The east side of the city is the very heart of Sacrosanct - it's unique skyline is a clash between modern sky rises and small Victorian-inspired storefronts. In the heart of downtown, the sleek colored glass buildings reign supreme though their old-world roots can be seen in the most peculiar places from the lamp post styled electric street light to the stone sidewalks. The old world architecture slowly returns the further from downtown you travel, however. It's here that magic thrives, it hums in every stone and can be felt in every breath. Often, newcomers to the city may become overwhelmed by such sensations but, eventually, it becomes an ever-present feeling that's hardly noticed.

Arlo James

See what it's like to be a vulture's lunch

He had, for his own part, paid terribly little attention to the red-haired proprietor whom moved almost as unobtrusively about that establishment as Arlo himself had done those past few evenings. This bar was filled with vampires after all. A veritable smorgasbord! Arlo content to assure himself only that those he had fed from before were decidedly absent before he inclined himself to any one place. His features were concealed when he hunted, the man taking care to leave little trace or manner of identification for his victims to so be able to track him down and yet, on occasion, one managed to do just that. Vampires seeming to be in possession of a truly horrific trait for revenge that he held little desire to be upon the receiving end off ever again. If anything might be said for that eternally youthful vulture of a vampire it was, surely, that he was not prone to repeating his mistakes. In a world that lacked his mentor and Maker he had learned hurriedly to fend for himself as he attempted to navigate those eternally choppy waters of his own existence. Vampires like himself it seemed, those whom fed from other vampires, were a decidedly rare entity and yet truly it was hardly difficult to see why. Covens were the major problem. Covens so eliminated those of his own ilk and it was covens he had spent the better part of his existence avoiding. Along with his own kind as a whole- save for when he fed. To be approached by one was unanticipated. Arlo so fixated upon his intended target in that moment that he had nearly missed the woman's approach entirely, the first syllable already upon her lips before he turned to face her- bright blue eyes meeting her own with a clear and evident surprise.

Her question was innocent, or seemingly so, Arlo moving hurriedly to rearrange his features into a look of polite intrigue and so remove that wary disdain from his gaze. There was no telling of her age or power, Arlo rarely inclined to stand his ground in any sort of physical argument, especially with those of superior strength and yet the woman before him was decidedly difficult to pinpoint. She spoke with confidence and moved with assurance and yet wouldn't he if this was his own home and territory? Perhaps he was thinking a little too much into it and yet those questions about just where he was from never seemed to end entirely well. Arlo seemingly caught between attempting to assuage whatever concern it was that had brought her over to him while simultaneously assessing whether or not simply attempting to run might prove beneficial, one hand reaching up to run through his near-black hair, his free hand tapping against his glass as his attention fixated upon the woman in full, his lips pulled into a smile.

"I'm....just passing through really. Only here for a few nights. I...she's just pretty that's all."

He gestures briefly to that dark-haired vampire woman whom had shifted across the bar and back towards the kitchens, Arlo so attempting to explain his apparent fascination with the woman as little more than those typical male hormones. That was believable wasn't it? Well- maybe a bit stalker-ish. His features frowning slightly at this new consideration before casting them aside to regard the woman before him once more. She was alone, of that he was sure, no other comrades hiding within the darkness to leap out at him and yet that wariness remained all the same. Arlo daring to inhale just slightly and allow the scent of her to wash over him. God she smelled good. Her proximity making her all the more alluring, the pupils within his gaze dilating with that sudden predatory hunger before he seemed to seize control of himself once more, gaze flicking deliberately onto the crowd again as if he saw something truly worth his time within it.

"This is your bar then?"

The way she had spoken so made him presume just that and yet it couldn't hurt to check, Arlo returning those azure blue eyes to her own now- attempting to redirect that line of questioning onto her rather than himself. It worked in the past, surely it would work now.

"You seem pretty busy most nights. This city has a lot of vampires, no covens though?"

Covens and their locations were of eternal interest to the man and yet such interest remained veiled beneath such a simple inquiry his head tilting slightly as if he'd only just stumbled upon this realisation, his gaze entirely expectant upon the woman now and yet he kept his eye on his potential dark-haired target across the room all the same.
