East

The east side of the city is the very heart of Sacrosanct - it's unique skyline is a clash between modern sky rises and small Victorian-inspired storefronts. In the heart of downtown, the sleek colored glass buildings reign supreme though their old-world roots can be seen in the most peculiar places from the lamp post styled electric street light to the stone sidewalks. The old world architecture slowly returns the further from downtown you travel, however. It's here that magic thrives, it hums in every stone and can be felt in every breath. Often, newcomers to the city may become overwhelmed by such sensations but, eventually, it becomes an ever-present feeling that's hardly noticed.

LET THE GREAT AXE FALL

A hospital.

How ironic that she works to save the lives he sets out to destroy. He rarely thought of such a human thing, for when he or any of his own perish in battle, well, it is what it is. The scars that litter his painted flesh are trophies, and he could not imagine going to a doctor or hospital to help such a thing. No, he doesn't believe in the human medicine and it probably would not help him anyways. His body could reject it, refusing to have aide in its natural healing just as he would refuse her aid if she were to offer it. What was it like, he wonders, to live such a mundane life and worry about trivial things like a residency as a nurse.

He looks down at her fragile being, cradled against his arm in slight fear. What was her day like? Does she appreciate the life she lives for she realizes just how limited it is? It was sad really, and pity lines his cold eyes for the briefest of moments before her questions is posed before him. He smirks, flicking his gaze from her towards the street below casually. "i come here to get away from it all, forget." how depressing he must sound, and weak. But in this moment he does not mind showing his bareness to her for she would not see it as such. She has no say in the matter, for she is weak.

Her excited squeal of a voice shocks him and he jumps slightly, a low growl emanating from him as he flicks his eyes towards the direction of her pointing. It is instinct that he does this, though he should be more careful with the noises he makes. His gaze flashes over her head towards the color lit skies before them. The moment is brief, her relaxing her grip on his arm and smiling at the sunrise and him leaving the sky's beauty to watch her. She looked so simple, finding joy in the smallest of things that he was so used to seeing every day. Then again, he sees it but this is the first time he is actually seeing it.

Humans, he may never understand them, but for this brief moment he is grateful for this one.

And for that reason he must go for his life of mayhem and chaos is what he is used to and this peace she emanates is too foreign for him. His arms slide under her, lifting her from her perch as he swings his legs back over the ledge. It is when his two feet are set on the rooftop firmly that he allows her to slide from his grip on the concrete. A small smile and a "'thanks for that, you have saved a life today. I can see why your job needs you." his low voice is gentle, releasing her fully to move away towards the staircase. His day is just beginning and he had plenty to do. He turns from her, "enjoy your sunrise, i'll see you again." he says, tossing a wave over his shoulder before opening the door and disappearing from her view.

It was time to go back to reality.
