East

The east side of the city is the very heart of Sacrosanct - it's unique skyline is a clash between modern sky rises and small Victorian-inspired storefronts. In the heart of downtown, the sleek colored glass buildings reign supreme though their old-world roots can be seen in the most peculiar places from the lamp post styled electric street light to the stone sidewalks. The old world architecture slowly returns the further from downtown you travel, however. It's here that magic thrives, it hums in every stone and can be felt in every breath. Often, newcomers to the city may become overwhelmed by such sensations but, eventually, it becomes an ever-present feeling that's hardly noticed.

LET THE GREAT AXE FALL

This had to be some sort of sick joke.

The world explodes around him, the humans completely oblivious to the scene going on now. They won't be for long though. The voices have quieted their howling screams, as if they too are in some sort of shocked phaze for before him stands, well, him. It was like a mirror effect, for his own crystal gaze rises to meet a crystal gaze the falling to that same beard and to the creepiest part; the tattoos. They matched, ink for ink, artwork for artwork, no difference in sight that even the keen eye of the predator can spot. They are both silent, a dead haze of confusion falling over them both like a blanket, but of course the other breaks it, his slick comments falling in the same deep smoky baritones that dvaerg himself carries.

He will soon find out his twin is like this all the time, quick witted and snarky beyond measures.

His eyebrow arches, arms crossing before his broad chest as he smirks. "no..." he replies, uncrossing his arms and moving forward steadily to break the space between. "I have a better idea." in moments he is there, thick arm pulling back as that calloused hand closes into a fist. He plows it forward, attempting to slam flesh into flesh and feel the reality sink in. if it should meet the face of his twin, a sound of bone on bone contact will be heard, drawing the once oblivious eyes of the crowd as a loud abrupt and crazed chuckle would explode from the viking.

"so you're real then," he states, shaking out his already bruising knuckles. His shoulders roll, head tilting roughly to one side then the other as cracks of his neck are heard. He feels great, that punch reminding him he isn't as crazy as he thought, and yet, he was still confused out of his mind. "which means..." he pauses, eyes flitting from his twin to the sky as he strokes his beard. 'well to be honest, I haven't got a damn idea what it means." the voices are coming back again, their frustration mixing with his own brewing frustration. What the hell?

And then it comes.

Blood, rage, fire.

It consumes him whole as a voice echoes in his mind. Angered and outraged, breaking through and causing a strike of pain to attack him from the inside. The viking god swings his axe but it is futile for how can you fight what is within you? There is a break, a tear and his body is literally ripped apart. His insides burn, one half of him stolen away from him in the fiery abysmal darkness. His tendons shred, muscles and bones breaking in the process of such a twisted renewal. He screams, a high blood pitched wail as his blood pours from him in waves. no, i am a god! You cannot do this!" he squeals in rage, one single arm flailing out to grab and retrieve his bloody half but he cannot and suddenly he feels small, so very small.

It is dark and quiet and then, light blinding light that consumes and elicits yet another wail only his voice does not boom, it is small and fragile. All too soon he is thrust into the world, invisible fingers pushing against his lower half and head comes first. More blood, fear, and finally, he can feel it. Death. It is the first time he meets it and how corrupt is it that it is also the first time he meets Life.

He returns to the now, a look of blatant fear and realization reaching the confines of his mind. The amount of emotion that hits him causes him to fall, feet taking numerous steps back to balance himself as hands raise shakily to his now bleeding ears. He looks at his hands and then, he looks at his twin, brother?"
