East

The east side of the city is the very heart of Sacrosanct - it's unique skyline is a clash between modern sky rises and small Victorian-inspired storefronts. In the heart of downtown, the sleek colored glass buildings reign supreme though their old-world roots can be seen in the most peculiar places from the lamp post styled electric street light to the stone sidewalks. The old world architecture slowly returns the further from downtown you travel, however. It's here that magic thrives, it hums in every stone and can be felt in every breath. Often, newcomers to the city may become overwhelmed by such sensations but, eventually, it becomes an ever-present feeling that's hardly noticed.

Never before in her admittedly short life had she ever spent so much time in her own company. This was not to say that Isolt had been an overtly social butterfly; quite the contrary, she had maintained only but a handful of truly close and worthwhile relationships that had withstood the test of their longevity... her friendship with Harley chief amongst them. However, in the seemingly desolate wasteland that had up until this point acted as the backdrop for her wretched afterlife, the auburn-haired girl had spent so very much time utterly and completely alone. In the immediate aftermath of her transformation this isolation had been entirely of her choosing, her environment a carefully orchestrated practice in personal segregation.

As of late, however, Isolt had begun to yearn for companionship as she had so often done when she was living; she yearned, above all else perhaps, for understanding... for acceptance. It was a juvenile thing, reminiscent of the emotional scourge of adolescence, and yet it was her deepest longing. A longing that had gone so far unsatisfied by her decided lack of company... Raven and Alexis had, indeed, bestowed upon her the greatest of generosities with their willingness to allow her to linger in their shared abode. However, the stolen sidelong glances and immediate physical tension upon her entry into their common areas hardly went unnoticed by the young vampire. She could see the fear in Alexis' eyes when she looked upon her as surely as she could see all else, this unspoken aversion to her presence causing the redheaded woman to recoil from her would-be companions further still.

And so it was when she could no longer stand the burden that her presence undoubtedly inflicted upon the duo of Weres that Isolt meandered about town in but one of a series of aimless attempts at self-distraction. On so many nights before this the young girl had found herself awash in the myriad offerings of one shop or another, crystalline eyes moving over all of the trinkets in turn without ever truly seeing them. This particular establishment was one she presumed Harley might have fancied, the items therein darkly alluring and eclectic in the way that had so often drawn the raven-haired woman's attentions. In fact it had been a favored pastime of the pair to skulk about town in order to discover just such a locale, a mission saved purely for those dreary nights during which no other activity seemed fitting or adequate.

The auburn-crowned girl pauses then, the thought of Harley a proverbial and well-aimed stake to an already ailing heart, the young woman physically cringing at the memory of what once had been. All at once she can no longer stomach the notion of lingering here, in this paradox of foreign familiarity, and turns hurriedly for the exit... her slender figure colliding solidly with the young woman who had only just made her entrance. "Oh my gosh, I'm so sorry," she pleads, the delicate canvas of her brow scrunched into deep furrows as she moves to steady the young girl. "Are you alright?"
