East

The east side of the city is the very heart of Sacrosanct - it's unique skyline is a clash between modern sky rises and small Victorian-inspired storefronts. In the heart of downtown, the sleek colored glass buildings reign supreme though their old-world roots can be seen in the most peculiar places from the lamp post styled electric street light to the stone sidewalks. The old world architecture slowly returns the further from downtown you travel, however. It's here that magic thrives, it hums in every stone and can be felt in every breath. Often, newcomers to the city may become overwhelmed by such sensations but, eventually, it becomes an ever-present feeling that's hardly noticed.

Sebastian Ellingtonget close enough to have fun
but not enough to get attached

It wasn't often that Sebastian saw fit to so offer up the knowledge of his own relationship. Not that he was in any way ashamed of the fae King. No, he loved the man with the entirety of his being and yet, to speak so openly of him often jarred with the imaginary world he attempted to create with his victims - the simple fact was, however, that Nadya was not entirely just that. Sure, he'd fed from her many times before and the sexual tension between them was often palpable but...the girl had still been his protege in some fashion or another. The sound of that laughter upon her lips prompted the man to snort at the notion that this was what so caused him to 'move up in the world' as she had put it. "Har har har." He uttered and yet, there was a warm grin upon his features all the same. Still, the vampire was hardly inclined to let the conversation dwell upon himself. After all, he had never been quite the sharer of his personal life. Rather, those inquiries turned upon the woman himself, astonished to find that young girl had children in the time they were apart. His eyebrows rose ever so slightly and yet, he remained wholly silent as Nadya so regaled him with what her own world had consisted of in his absence.

A small simper crossed his features as the young woman spoke of her children, the man altogether aware of that affection she clearly held for them. "Congratulations, Nadya." He muttered softly and yet, there was a genuineness to his lyrics. After all, children were...a blessing that Sebastian himself would never experience. That ability to give life had been stolen from him the moment in which he'd died upon those cobblestone streets, though he'd long since come to terms with it. However, he was hardly surprised, really, to learn they had been unanticipated. Call it a hunch but...with their affinity, such accidents seemed....like something to be expected. It was, however, that mention that she had found someone that had truly called to most of his attention, his bright blue eyes met the dark hued ones of the girl beside him. His eyebrow rose at the notion that her life was 'complicated'. Frankly, he doubted it. People tended to make matters far bigger than they ever truly were. Still, not a judgemental word left his lips - the man fully allowing the woman her time to explain what matters so thwarted her when it came to her heart.

"Hmm..." He muttered simply as he listened to that tale. Lover or family. Ah, he'd heard this one many times before. Sebastian leaned back against that dance stage, his head resting upon his folded hands as he laid upon that floor. "If he truly loved you Nadya, wouldn't he want to show your family the man behind that mask? If he really loved you, he'd want you to be happy -- and that should include pleasing your family too." He stated, his crystalline blue eyes staring up at the ceiling. At the very least - that was what Sebastian had done for Dorian. He was not without his fair share of mistakes. After all, Samantha altogether abhorred him and yet - he'd tried to fix that rift between himself and the woman for his lover's sake. Was that not what men did for the person they adored? It was that mention of family that saw him raise to hi elbows, his gaze landing solidly upon her as he nodded. "Family always comes first dove. Love comes and goes. It's gained and lost and fate changes her mind so frequently on who we're destined for. But family - you only have family one and when they are gone... there is no getting that back." It was a topic the vampire felt quite strongly on. After all, with his own gift he had seen the fickleness of love, just as he too had so abandoned his childhood crush to become engaged to the woman his father desired of him - and now fate had seen it to provide him with one he cared for far greater than anyone he had ever met. Yes. Family always came first for Sebastian. It was a shame that his own lines had all but vanished.

The man allowed the conversation to change, however, entirely aware of the way her heart seemed to change it's beat from the steady pace it so usually was at the mention of this man she thought she loved. Rather, it was the business that seemed to draw their attention and yet, the suggestion of being Dorian to that dance studio only seemed to prompt laughter from his lips. "I'm touched you think so. Sadly, the poor man didn't even know who Beethoven was. Right useless with music but give him a paint brush and he's bloody brilliant." His head shook from side to side before those impish blue eyes glanced over at her. "I'm kind of hurt you didn't bother to even think I might know something of music. You do know I'm older than you, child." That last word was spoken all too teasingly and yet, the simple reality was that classical art was very much his forte.
