East

The east side of the city is the very heart of Sacrosanct - it's unique skyline is a clash between modern sky rises and small Victorian-inspired storefronts. In the heart of downtown, the sleek colored glass buildings reign supreme though their old-world roots can be seen in the most peculiar places from the lamp post styled electric street light to the stone sidewalks. The old world architecture slowly returns the further from downtown you travel, however. It's here that magic thrives, it hums in every stone and can be felt in every breath. Often, newcomers to the city may become overwhelmed by such sensations but, eventually, it becomes an ever-present feeling that's hardly noticed.

Ain't life just awful strange

a new world hangs outside the window
beautiful and strange
it must be I've fallen awake
I must be

Buffy wastes no time in sizing up the were with the weapon in front of her. She watches the impressive span of muscle wrapped tight over his shoulders roll slowly and the angry tick in his face as he assesses her rude intrusion into the situation. When he speaks, warning her, testing her, she merely smiles, cocking her head to one side briefly as she watches his tattooed hand that held the axe. The dark hunter slowly exposes her own, the hand whose fingers are delicately wrapped around the handle of the blade unsheathing it from the holder at her backside, and slowly letting it come to rest, dangling at her hip. "Sorry to tell you, but the show's canceled."

She moves slowly out from her position behind the trash cans, her boots quiet along the damp asphalt. But she doesn't move to close the gap between them just yet. Buffy is carefully assessing the situation. Despite the darkness and the comotion from the streets and the sidewalk behind her, she can feel the shifter's intense glare. But then the other moves in a flash from behind him. Buffy's grip in the blade tightens instinctively, but still, she holds her position, watching with interest as the heavy set, tattooed man nabs him by the throat with his bare hands. She takes a start forward, just one or two deliberate steps. "Hey! That's enough!" She bellows, watching as blood begins to drip from where the axe met the man's unfortunate flesh. Buffy is about to engage the were when she sees him begin to ease off, and strangely, the blood dripping from his ears.

Her heart begins to race in her chest as she tries to get a handle on the situation. She's killed plenty of aggressive weres before, many of them just as big as this guy. But something was amiss here. The look on the man's face as he growled at his prey sent an unnerving chill up her spine. But the moment was fleeting -- soon enough the stranger had relinquished his foe, leaving him to scramble on the cold, wet asphalt with the opportunity to leave with his life. Buffy was baffled.

One man flees and suddenly the were's attention if adverted back to her. He asks for payment, and this time Buffy isn't smiling anymore. "Three days until what? You kill him?" She asks frankly, the dagger twirling in her fingertips.
