East

The east side of the city is the very heart of Sacrosanct - it's unique skyline is a clash between modern sky rises and small Victorian-inspired storefronts. In the heart of downtown, the sleek colored glass buildings reign supreme though their old-world roots can be seen in the most peculiar places from the lamp post styled electric street light to the stone sidewalks. The old world architecture slowly returns the further from downtown you travel, however. It's here that magic thrives, it hums in every stone and can be felt in every breath. Often, newcomers to the city may become overwhelmed by such sensations but, eventually, it becomes an ever-present feeling that's hardly noticed.

SOLO I FORTI VIVO
only the strong live

"I never miss." Caprice replies curtly. It is a simple reply to his pathetic attempt to attack her emotionally. Not once in her career had her knife missed it's mark. if she had meant to injure the already injured brute, she would have end of story. His useless torts and insults bounced off of a thick heart as she moved away from him and down the hall. It would take a lot more than a boy's icy heart to deter her. Obviously she wasn't the problem here. If it weren't for the natural block that all hunter's gained when it came to her attempts at mind reading, Caprice would have slipped into his memories hours ago and found the real reason as to why he was so haughty with her. She was a female for one, and a not bad looking one.

Now, hazel green eyes narrow at the beast before her, towering over the small woman easily. He sneers, grimy gums peeling as he dares to take a step towards her and the helpless child that she guards. Caprice stands her ground, spinning the dagger in her hand swiftly before daring to mirror the were and moving forward a step. Caprice grits her jaw, adrenaline shooting through her as she prepares to literally leap at the were only suddenly he howls in pain, the sound erupting from her and causing her eyes to widen as she flicks them at the blonde haired male standing behind him. She almost forgot he was here, her instincts as a hunter driving her to act alone and not think about the possibility of a savior. She had never needed one and even now, she believed she wouldn't need one.

The world slows, Caprice watching as Az slams into the were-man and they crash into the ground. Body begins to feel that familiar tingling, mind rushing as she traces the feeling of a beast nearby. It is not the one before her that has caused this, something lies behind her. Caprice doesn't hear Az scream for help as she slowly turns, eyes fixating on the little girl who has ceased crying and is now smiling wickedly. The child's pupils have dilated, as teeth elongate. "Merda" Caprice curses, her hiss of irritation followed by child's laughter and then it is on. The child leaps at Caprice, clawed fingernails reaching out to slash and maim. Caprice doesn't need more than a minute to react the vampire's attack. Her skills and experience have granted her speed and agility beyond measure. Left hand raises easily, dagger slicing through flesh and Caprice spins in an almost ballerina like way. A vicious scream rips the air, nails slicing through her lower side as Caprice spins. Only a grunt emits from her as she stops, facing a now lifeless body before it turns to ash before her.

"Leave it and help me!" Az's deep booming voice causes her to take a rapid breath before she whirls around, instantly taking in the situation as the large man struggles to hold the beast darn. Brows furrow, plush lips pursing as she lifts the sword from the ground. "I couldn't agree more, Amore" Caprice purrs, her breathing causing her usually silky sweet tones to come out breathy and husky. She raises the sword, hearing the angry hiss as she slices down upon the neck of the were-cat as she heard the satisfying crunch and then thud as blade hits the wooden floor of the apartment. She rips the blade from the wood, staring down at Az with full blown amusement. " I think adopting a cat is too fast as well. I'm allergic. " With that, Caprice tosses the bloodied sword to the side, sweat glistening upon her olive toned skin as she moves to step over the both of them and move into the kitchen.

The light is almost blinding and she shuts it off causing his little bon fire to seem brighter than before. For a moment, the huntress stares at the flames, slowing her breathing as she opens her mind. It is a cleansing, she allows the good thoughts of so many to fill her own consciousness; marriages, births, birthdays, victories, kisses, hugs, laughter. She lets it all consume her own mind and it is almost as if she is there instead of here, smelling the smell of burning were and wearing the blood of a child. Even after so many years of doing this, the idea of killing a child had still shook her. Caprice sighs, closing her mind to it all as she turns away from the fire to face the kitchen sink. Turning on the water, she splashes some upon her face before the adrenaline begins to slowly wear off. She hisses, wincing as the wound in her side and part of her stomach now causes her pain. Her black shirt is soaked with blood and it is just now that she begins to feel weak. Unlike normal Hunters, Caprice took hours, sometimes days to heal. As to why, she had yet to find out. It started with her first wound that even now remained a scar upon her tanned flesh.

Fingers grasp gingerly at the bottom of her shirt, Az's presence forgotten nor cared about as she lifts it up over her head. She had held her breath during the movement and now, she exhales slowly, eyes shutting tightly against the pain. Long ago her hands may have shook but now, steady hands are placed onto the edge of the counter as she pushes, lifting herself up onto the sink closer to the faucet. " Mai fidarsi, mai. (Never trust, never)" Caprice whispers the motto to herself, reaching out a slender hand to place it under the water and proceeds to splash the water upon herself. She was losing too much blood, other hand laying behind her upon the counter as she attempts to hold herself up. Caprice grabs her shirt, pushing it against her flesh with a gentle gasp.

" I guess we are even, huh pretty boy?" Caprice attempts a jest at him, remembering his minor wound from before and a light chuckle escapes her plush lips. It was strange for her to have anyone here in this moment and if she weren't losing so much blood she would have left minutes ago, never speaking to this male again ever in her life.

That is not the case though.

Her eyelids droop, hand falling from her bleeding wound as she begins to lean towards the edge of the counter. She can feel herself falling, she can feel the impact of the kitchen floor nearing her quickly and then, nothing.

" speaking."
