East

The east side of the city is the very heart of Sacrosanct - it's unique skyline is a clash between modern sky rises and small Victorian-inspired storefronts. In the heart of downtown, the sleek colored glass buildings reign supreme though their old-world roots can be seen in the most peculiar places from the lamp post styled electric street light to the stone sidewalks. The old world architecture slowly returns the further from downtown you travel, however. It's here that magic thrives, it hums in every stone and can be felt in every breath. Often, newcomers to the city may become overwhelmed by such sensations but, eventually, it becomes an ever-present feeling that's hardly noticed.

She actually hadn't expected Henry to get ahold of her so soon. Sure, she didn't feel any differently about him and he was still one of her closest friends but she knew things weren't going to be so smooth with him after they mated in that hotel room. She was into it, definitely, but she could tell he was into it for different reasons. She trusted him and she wanted it to be him to show her how it's done and he didn't disappoint at all but she knew even then that it would probably be a one time thing. He was distracted, distant. He was sad a lot when she was with him and she knew it must have had to do with someone else. When she first met him, he had mentioned a boyfriend, and since then she hadn't smelled anyone else on him, not a human smell like he had on him that first night anyway. She wondered if they'd gotten into a fight or something. That would be a reason for Henry to be sad. She didn't want him to be sad anymore but the last time she had stuck her nose in his business, he'd gotten mad and they'd yelled at each other and she had stormed out. She didn't want a repeat of that so she was trying to stay out of his business.

She only hoped he wouldn't go back to being all stiff and uptight like he was before that night. He was so much more fun when he was relaxed....and naked, but she would try not to think about that. For his sake, anyway. She had a feeling he just wanted things to sort of go back to the way they were and in some ways, she was okay with that. When he'd told her to pick something nice for tonight, she didn't know what he was talking about so she'd employed Nadya's help in the matter. Luckily the WerePanther sort of held the same taste as her so she'd ended up putting on a tight red dress with a split up to her thigh and some black stiletto heels. She liked the way they made her legs look. They were hard to walk in but she found her balance pretty quick when Nadya made her walk around the house in them for hours to practice. Nadya had even helped her with makeup, a foreign subject matter to Malia but Nadya said it would make her eyes pop for anyone who catches her fancy. She didn't tell Nadya who she going out with but Nadya seemed to think it was a date with a cute guy so that was all that mattered.

Besides, it wasn't a lie. Henry was definitely an attractive man; he just wasn't attracted to her like that. she didn't mind, really. She liked him as a friend and trusted him but it's not like she wanted him as a boyfriend or anything like that. She wasn't even sure she wanted a boyfriend, period. She did want to have more fun as Henry had called it, but since her trusted guy friends with no attachments were few and far between, she didn't see that happening any time soon. She made sure to grab her leather jacket on the way out to keep her warm as she made her way to the restaurant. She smiled when she saw Henry waiting outside. "Hey." She said as she walked up to him, glancing over his shoulder at the inside of the place. Her brows raised. "Wow, you sure you want to take me in there? I might embarass you or something." She smirked, nudging his shoulder playfully.
