East

The east side of the city is the very heart of Sacrosanct - it's unique skyline is a clash between modern sky rises and small Victorian-inspired storefronts. In the heart of downtown, the sleek colored glass buildings reign supreme though their old-world roots can be seen in the most peculiar places from the lamp post styled electric street light to the stone sidewalks. The old world architecture slowly returns the further from downtown you travel, however. It's here that magic thrives, it hums in every stone and can be felt in every breath. Often, newcomers to the city may become overwhelmed by such sensations but, eventually, it becomes an ever-present feeling that's hardly noticed.

Arlo James

See what it's like to be a vulture's lunch

It was like every single nerve in his body was on fire. Some sort of...energy seeming to pulse through it and yet it was hardly a good sort of energy in any sense. Rather, whatever it was, damn well hurt. That first time was so entirely shocking Arlo very near scrambled back into his seat wide-eyed. His blue gaze firmly upon those retreating women with the firm belief they were to blame. One of them apparently having sensed his intentions maybe- or having remembered that she'd hardly passed out at all. Arlo failing to consider Damon in any sense. In fact, in the wake of that source of blood departing his company he'd nearly forgotten about the other vampire entirely. Blood, for Arlo, still very much an eclipsing substance that seemed to take over his mind to the very point he often forgot his surroundings at all. For several moments longer the young vampire merely blinked after those retreating girls. Arlo waiting until he was sure their attention was elsewhere before rising smoothly from his chair again. The man getting no more than a step in their direction before that pain seemed to flair within him again. Arlo gritting his teeth against it as that groan of pain was forced from him. Good fucking God.

It was pure stubbornness that saw the younger vampire attempt to step forward all the same, as if some part of him seemed to believe he might be able to somehow break that hold with pure determination and yet his very body was spasming, his knees threatening to give way. Arlo summoning that affinity to him then to abruptly teleport- that hold whoever or whatever had over him snapping the moment he disappeared into thin air, providing the man a breath of relief as he landed back in that chair. That power failing to strike him again. As if the chair was somehow....safe? Was it because it was made of wood and wood didn't conduct electricity? Was that it? Had it even been electricity he was being zapped with. That confusion still clear upon his features before that offhand comment from Damon saw Arlo round on him. It had been Damon!? That bastard. Who the hell was he to go around zapping people? Arlo's lips pulled briefly back to show those fangs before he seemed to think slightly better off it. His arms folded with that huff across his chest.

When Damon had said he was going to help him he'd been expecting some sort of pep talk or something, not shock therapy. Damon almost seeming as if he was enjoying himself before promptly announcing it to be negative reinforcement. If Arlo wasn't hungry then he should eat. The man continuing to scowl at the other vampire now- clearly unimpressed with his efforts. A snort erupting from within him then. Damon was right, he supposed, to an extent. He wasn't...hungry exactly. He'd only just fed and yet it was the principal off it! That was his food. Arlo simply desiring that blood because it was there to be had. God, he really was a monster and yet it was damn hard to stop himself. That apparent food agressions decidedly potent in the younger vampire as he seemed to contemplate his own words before at last offering them.

"Well- you didn't have to bloody do that! I know I'm not hungry it's just....I mean.....I don't know why I wanted them, ok? I don't know. I just kinda want blood like all the time even when I'm not that hungry. Everyone says i'll grow out of it but how freaking long does that take?"

His features softened slightly again as he regarded Damon now. That question entirely serious before he cast those girls a final look, reluctantly letting them leave, the man muttering slightly under his breath before finishing that last of that drink.

"I don't think I need any more...er....lessons for tonight do I?"

One eye lifted slightly, Arlo almost hoping Damon didn't have some other test in mind he was likely about to fail only to get zapped again.

"So what do I have to do to get a ride home out of you? Or is that free, bud?"
