East

The east side of the city is the very heart of Sacrosanct - it's unique skyline is a clash between modern sky rises and small Victorian-inspired storefronts. In the heart of downtown, the sleek colored glass buildings reign supreme though their old-world roots can be seen in the most peculiar places from the lamp post styled electric street light to the stone sidewalks. The old world architecture slowly returns the further from downtown you travel, however. It's here that magic thrives, it hums in every stone and can be felt in every breath. Often, newcomers to the city may become overwhelmed by such sensations but, eventually, it becomes an ever-present feeling that's hardly noticed.

Who go bigger, but burn quicker

and maybe we are two sinners
who go bigger, but burn quicker

What is up with this line? Isn't this a small, desolate café? Lisé groaned to herself tapping her foot while the line suddenly disperses when a rigid man with white snowy hair storms in straight to the counter. There was first looks of disgust exchanged between customers when he pushed his way to the front of the counter, disregard for anyone but himself, yet, people automatically went back to their seats or exited the café when they seemed to realize who he was.

Scanning the now desolate line and café, she couldn't help but notice the waitstaff retreat to the back with panicked faces. "At least the line is cleared," she muttered to herself, now crossing her arms as she leaned on the nearest rack of merchandise. She stood there examining the man now hunching over the counter, impatiently tapping his index finger. God, when will this headache go away? she thought, now taking one finger and rubbing her left temple. "This is taking forever," she complains aloud, still leaned against the merchandise rack. "Finally," she took a sigh of relief as she viewed a baker shuffle out of the kitchen to deal with the line cutter.

It sounded like the two of them knew each other by the sudden exchange they greeted one another with. Although, it didn't seem as though they were on good terms by the way the baker shouted, "Get out of it, Frost." The guys name is Frost huh?Lisé now knew the man's name at the counter. Frost is definitely a fitting name it seems," she thought amusingly. As Frost was too busy harassing the baker Lisé noticed the man started to sweat profusely.Gross. He looked like a fat swine sweating. She eyed the baker up and down not understanding why he had exuded so much sweat. Is that even normal? Wait, she murmured. Lisé knew humans sweat but this seemed highly abnormal, even for a portly man. She couldn't tell the temperature though, that was one thing she always loved about being a vampire, never having to worry about getting hot or cold. "I just want coffeeeeee," Lisé groaned aloud head now shoved into the side of the rack like a child throwing a fit. Finally, after the display of who had more testosterone was done, she watched the chummy looking white-haired man make his way over to the seating area with two cupcakes. Not caring to watch long enough to notice where he sat, she made her way up to the counter and ordered another coffee from the frazzled barista before her.

Grabbing the mug of coffee, she made her way back to the booth and slid in to the seat. Taking a deep sigh, she rummaged into her handbag and pulled out a new small bottle of vodka and poured a couple of shots in to the coffee. Screwing back on the lid she cuddled the coffee cup and took a big swig, eyes closed, enjoying the strong taste, mostly of the alcohol. As she dreamily opened her eyes, it was met with a guffawed look from the man with snow white hair. She suddenly heard the man ask her if she needed anything, along with a few extra words she couldn't understand. "If you don't mind," Lisé expressed as she reached for the other delightful cupcake sitting in front of the man. Without hesitation she devoured the cupcake and cheekily stated, "Thanks! That's for holding up the line." She continued to slurp her coffee, seeing the man eyeing her with disbelief. "Didn't your parents ever teach you to share?" she teased, glaring directly into the man's violet eyes.
"So, Frosty, do you like coming into cafes a bullying the bakers? It seems like an interesting past time," Lisé smirked as she sucked the frosting off her fingers. "What's up with your hair and eyes? You a cosplayer?" she laughed. "You really like to express yourself, huh?" She added now pouring more vodka into her half drank coffee. Her headache was starting to go away, and she felt she regained a bit more of her spunk. She wondered when James would finally be finished with his damn work. Would she really have to spend the rest of her morning here with a weirdo like Frost?
