East

The east side of the city is the very heart of Sacrosanct - it's unique skyline is a clash between modern sky rises and small Victorian-inspired storefronts. In the heart of downtown, the sleek colored glass buildings reign supreme though their old-world roots can be seen in the most peculiar places from the lamp post styled electric street light to the stone sidewalks. The old world architecture slowly returns the further from downtown you travel, however. It's here that magic thrives, it hums in every stone and can be felt in every breath. Often, newcomers to the city may become overwhelmed by such sensations but, eventually, it becomes an ever-present feeling that's hardly noticed.

Green eyes instantly travel to the man that walks through that door, allowing that cold wind to so invade her space. How she despised such weather, hardly ever caring for that chill that accompanied this side of the world. White hair is stark on the man's skin, though he makes no effort to move to that register, instead, he wanders the cases his expressionless face eyeing the treats that lines the shelves. Taliah hardly gives the man a second thought as he seems to settle himself by the baked good shelf, the bell chiming once more to reveal a mother and a child. Taliah's eyes lock onto them as they make their way to the counter, the mother releasing the girl's hand as the child proceeds to wander the bakery. Normally, Taliah wouldn't have minded if a child was wandering around and yet... the girl seemed agitated and things felt a little off. Perhaps the appearance of another were had taken her off guard, simply because she had no served two weres in the span of two days, she hardly expected so many of them to come traipsing through her bakery. Green eyes travel back to the mother, her own features absent of emotion as she orders bread.

Taliah blinks at the woman, "What was it that you wanted again?" The woman murmurs in that quiet voice of hers, though it was hardly demure or shy in any sense, her quiet voice holding a firmness to it that always made people think twice before crossing her. As the woman rattles off what she wants again, she doesn't allow that frown to cross her lips that so desperately wanted to rise. There was indeed something off about this woman. Still, Taliah turns around and retrieves two loaves of bread, her eyes brushing over the movement of the white haired man. Bagging the two loaves up, the clattering of baked goods draws the woman's attention as her green gaze finds the toppled tower of goodies strewn about the floor and the little girl sitting about them as she howled with such a passion. It made Taliah want to cover her ears from the noise, it was no better than listening to nails on a chalk board. Stepping from around the counter, she hardly hurries in any sense as she moves towards the crying child and the cooing mother.

Taliah doesn't say a word as she bends down, those observant eyes scanning the fallen meringue, some entirely destroyed while others... were lopsided. A frown finally crosses her features as she inspects those fallen goods, entirely tuning out the wailing child and the chatter of the mother. Glancing up, she notes one of her bakers pop his head out of the kitchen, his eyes wide in surprise as Taliah simply shakes her head at him. He hesitates for a moment before he pushes his way back into the kitchen where he remains, not wanting to be apart of the happenings in the front. Pushing to a standing position, green eyes flit to the small family as she watches them for a long moment. Her gaze searches the cafe only to see that same man eating the apple pie she made this morning. Again, her features remain in that neutral territory as she steps through the woman and child, the illusion dissipating as she slowly makes her way to the man, halting in front of him as she stares him down while he munches away on that pie.

"The last time I checked, it was customary to purchase bakery items prior to eating them," comes her cool and quiet voice, her green eyes glancing down at the pie he so holds to himself, though there is another scent that seems to cling to him, a familiar scent. Glancing over her shoulder, she does a quick stock of her inventory, noting that one of the tartlets she made were missing as well. Allowing her gaze to travel back to the white haired man, her hands dart out with lightning speed as she snatches, not only the pie, but the fork from him as he was mid bite. Setting the fork in the pie plate, she turns on a heel and moves with a purpose back to the counter and sets the pie down. Turning to look impassively at the man over her shoulder, "That'll be $27.85," she announces as her gaze briefly falls back to the floor, noting the mess was gone. An interesting power he had, the woman almost wishing she was capable of such a thing. "I suggest you pay, if you decide not to you will not be welcome back within my store again, do you understand me?" She states, her voice taking on an edge as the few customers that were still within the bakery fall silent, several them standing and leaving, feeling uncomfortable with the tension between the two weres.
