East

The east side of the city is the very heart of Sacrosanct - it's unique skyline is a clash between modern sky rises and small Victorian-inspired storefronts. In the heart of downtown, the sleek colored glass buildings reign supreme though their old-world roots can be seen in the most peculiar places from the lamp post styled electric street light to the stone sidewalks. The old world architecture slowly returns the further from downtown you travel, however. It's here that magic thrives, it hums in every stone and can be felt in every breath. Often, newcomers to the city may become overwhelmed by such sensations but, eventually, it becomes an ever-present feeling that's hardly noticed.

i used to rule the world

seas would rise when i gave the word

The pair near exploded from that tree line rather close to that camp of immortals and yet, it was hardly close enough for the Dark Hunter. He was still racing that reaction time within the teleporting steed as he so mentally encouraged Frost to close that distance even faster if he was capable of it. He leaned forward against the ivory man's spine, his hand reaching out to summon that weapon he so desired as those tethered horses began to fight against their own bindings. He knew well how preciously little time they had, the man all but ignoring that smaller framed mare that broke from her position in a flailing frenzy of fear. His eyes were set only upon his target. His own sword flew through the air but moments after the young mare's flight, colliding into the form of that ebony stallion just as the creature called on his own powers of teleportation. Alexander could hardly help those Greek curse words that so left his lips in the wake of that failure and yet, there was no doubt that the Hunter at least succeeded in wounding his prey, that much was clear by the red hue that coated the tip of that shining silver blade.

He hardly fought his own steed as Frost turned wide, only to shift that pathway back towards that remaining tethered creature. He was well aware of that Immortal that so charged at them with his pike raised and yet, Alexander was certainly not too prideful to deny that simple fact that he needed the Persian fellow. He needed help. Or, more importantly, he needed information. It was that which caused the Macedonian man to issue that simple order to slow, even though he could feel well Frost's desire to fight it. He was pleased when the horse finally obeyed him, that pace shifting from a gallop to a slow walk. His blue-green eyes settled upon that raging Immortal, his hand reached out for that secondary "weapon" of sorts, letting that pike brush across the wooden surface before his own affinity so embraced the fellow, causing the man to quite abruptly halt. Alexander could feel that will fighting against him and yet, the hunter had age, experience, and power in his favor as he so demanded the location of the man's now previous commander. It was, after all, Xerxes that he was after, not the Persian's mock army of Hunters in the Calvary.

Though he was well aware of Frost's idle comment within his thoughts, Alexander hardly vocally offered any sort of acknowledgment of that compliment. Rather, it was a simple feeling of satisfaction that lingered within the Hunter. His eyebrows furrowed at that age-old speech that rolled off the man's tongue and yet, that dialect was hardly out of Alexander's own knowledge, hailing back to his glory days. Perhaps this fellow was near similar to his own infinitely old age - how interesting. His eyebrows furrowed ever so slightly as his gaze followed that pointed figure towards the empty field. What a shame. Xerxes had gotten away, temporarily. He simply would be making this harder on himself, the Hunter entirely determined on his own victory. Despite that faint sound of hooves, Alexander hardly seemed concerned in the slightest. Rather, he turned to face that direction in consideration, the hunter entirely oblivious of that archer that stood just within the tree line and out of his sight.

He could, however, feel those muscles coiling quite abruptly within him, offering the King the slightest of warnings before the horse launched himself upwards. A scowl crossed Alexander's features, at least, until that arrow whizzed through the air in the very place the equine had moments ago been standing. Xerxes was announcing his presence. How cute. He hardly sought to stop the steed that so danced on that hill, the hunter trusting in that horse just as much as Frost had promised to trust in him. He watched as the that stolen immortal so mounted his own chestnut creature, ensuring the man remained safely within the grasp of his own abilities. It was only then that his attention turned towards his enemy, the flashes of lightning above allowed the Hunter a glimpse of that small gathering on the other side of the field. There he was - Alexander's intended prey had finally shown his face. That near lackadaisical fashion in which the Persian sat so smugly upon his ebony steed only served to bring a small simper upon Alexander's own features. Good - he wouldn't anticipate that moment when Alexander stole victory from underneath him...again.

Those uttered lyrics that rose across that field hardly served to antagonize him. Even for all of Alexander's pride, the King never let that chase for victory lead him into any sort of unsavory situation, this was surely just the same. Rather, his own thoughts were already focused on finding a suitable alternative. Perhaps it was time to change that battlefield? They were too far to use his other affinities and though he could create that shield to protect himself, he feared for Frost's safety just the same. It was the sudden knotching of those arrows that finally sealed his own sort of battle plan, those thoughts smoothly provided for Frost alone, after all, time was of the essence if he wanted the upper hand in this plan. "Frost, you once told me you had the power of illusions. Use those now to make it appear as if we are charging across that field. I want to let him think he has won." He needed the man to no longer anticipate their presence, nor that inevitable return attack. "Mask our appearance too, if you could, while we get to the tree line." As much as Frost hated those enclosed spaces, it was necessary to use those trees to mask their presence, much less to protect them from those arrows. A simple gesture was all that was given towards his new-found comrade as he pointed Frost back towards that forest. At the very least, he now knew where the Persian was and that made it all the easier to take Xerxes down.
