East

The east side of the city is the very heart of Sacrosanct - it's unique skyline is a clash between modern sky rises and small Victorian-inspired storefronts. In the heart of downtown, the sleek colored glass buildings reign supreme though their old-world roots can be seen in the most peculiar places from the lamp post styled electric street light to the stone sidewalks. The old world architecture slowly returns the further from downtown you travel, however. It's here that magic thrives, it hums in every stone and can be felt in every breath. Often, newcomers to the city may become overwhelmed by such sensations but, eventually, it becomes an ever-present feeling that's hardly noticed.

It was a curious vision. Those images that danced behind his eyes hardly as clear as they so often were. Even now, even after more then two thousand years of practice some of those visions, or at least the meanings within them, eluded him still. Whoever and whatever she was, she was connected to Aiden in some fashion- or soon to be. Their paths so destined to intersect. Matteo ever watchful of anyone or anything so fated to involve themselves with one of his dearest companions and adopted son of sorts. He had changed that future before to shield the boy and he would do so again if need be. Yet- this one hardly appeared as if she brought any harm. Attitude perhaps- but not harm. The near ancient Frenchman so allowed those visions to take over once more, swimming across his gaze as that near hellish hue of red so enveloped those normally silver iris'. The Fae so ensuring those sunglasses remained in place to prevent any passersby so mistaking him for some sort of possessed beast. It had happened before. An unfortunate moment that. Those images that danced within his eyes were far more symbolic then they were informative this time and yet those very symbols were becoming perhaps a little more clear each time he viewed them. He need only work out whose symbol that was. A woman, that much was clear, one destined not to be a woman, at least a human woman, for to terribly much longer. Yet why was she surrounded with so many pictures? An artist perhaps? No, it was hardly paint. It looked far more like...

"Oh."

That soft utterance parted his lips in near the same moment as a simper seemed to find them. Those visions cut short, he hardly needed to see anymore. Matteo inclined to chuckle softly at his own veritable blindness in this. She was an artist, this mysterious woman whom so lingered upon the very peripherals of Aiden's life and yet- hardly a traditional sort of one. How very intriguing. The Fae rose easily from his place within that chair in Alexander's cafe, what remained of the coffee within his cup easily drained before it was returned to the saucer. His once-more silvered gaze searching the Inner Sanctum for his companion before spying the Hunter on the far side of the room collecting those used plates and brushing the crumbs from the polished wood surface of the table. Those Greek words readily left his lips, calling out to the Hunter he would be back tonight. Matteo rewarded with little more then that brusque wave as he strode from the cafe and out onto the street. In the very least he was so hardly required to travel far in his quest to find the illusive woman. The Frenchman already near assured of exactly where he might find the intriguing mademoiselle. How very destined his feet were to suffer for the information though. Ah, but where would the fun in life be without a little risk?

The Fae paused to wait for several cars to hurry past before crossing over that road with an inward grumble of sorts. If there was but anything to be missed of the years gone by it was surely the lack of traffic. The roads of the modern era a veritable glutton for copious cars and trains and trucks. How little people valued silence any more. Ah, but how old he was becoming! He would surely need rectify that. He turned easily down the next street then, the breeze so beginning to hold within it those first bites of cool autumn air, one that heralded in what he knew already would be a cold winter. Colder than normal. Such thoughts, for now, were easily cast aside as the Frenchman pressed deeper into the East side of town only to so final pause outside that tattoo parlour. His gaze glanced upward, peering through that window to eye the drawings that littered the walls, several of those images matching the very ones that had danced before his eyes earlier that morning. A simper of satisfaction so finding his lips at having found his prize so easily. In the very least he had found the right place. Whether or not he might find the woman remained to be seen.

His hand pressed against the glass door, that bell chiming almost cheerily at his entrance as he paused within the foyer of the store, those sunglasses lifted from his silvered gaze to allow his eyes to wander those walls with their designs. They were decent enough. The artist showed talent in the least. Though whether they were as skilled as the tattoos he already had remained to be seen. That long-sleeved white shirt he wore today obscuring his own tattoos from view- for now. His attention lingering upon the walls. At least until the sound of someone approaching prompted his head to turn. His gaze meeting the striking violet of a womans own. This most certainly the creature whom had lingered within his mind's eye. Her eyes a veritable giveaway. An unusual and rarely seen shade. A compliment to her dark hair and feminine features. She was a pretty thing. Exotic almost within her mixed heritage. The sort of woman whm would attract the eyes of almost any man if she desired- and yet how he near pitied any man whom might try. The woman before him a double-edged sword in every sense. What lingered within her own past was near as dark as Aidens own and yet she had chosen to face the world with a different sort of shield to his own son. A more abrasive one. Yet perhaps there was something to be admired in her own determination to live.

"You are younger than I expected."

Those accented words came near suddenly, Matteo well aware they were hardly a traditional sort of greeting in any sense and yet an amusement of sorts seemed to linger upon his own eternally youthful features. His gaze drifted from the woman again and back to the walls that surrounded them, his hands lifted from his jeans pockets to fold over his chest then. Matteo frowning ever so slightly and yet just what prompted that expression remained to be seen. That faintest touch of red so lingering within his gaze before it was quickly drawn back. He already knew the answers to those question that came to his lips and yet he had played this game long enough to know others so often required those questions before they accepted his answers all the same. Those accented words parting his lips again.

"Are you the artist? What do you have that is a little more, how you say, worldly?"

If he was so fated to have a tattoo, it might as well be one that would annoy Alexander sufficiently.
