East

The east side of the city is the very heart of Sacrosanct - it's unique skyline is a clash between modern sky rises and small Victorian-inspired storefronts. In the heart of downtown, the sleek colored glass buildings reign supreme though their old-world roots can be seen in the most peculiar places from the lamp post styled electric street light to the stone sidewalks. The old world architecture slowly returns the further from downtown you travel, however. It's here that magic thrives, it hums in every stone and can be felt in every breath. Often, newcomers to the city may become overwhelmed by such sensations but, eventually, it becomes an ever-present feeling that's hardly noticed.

An nì a thig leis a'ghaoith, falbhaidh e leis an uisge

The ancient youth followed the witch into the back room. His pale blue gaze following her every move as she cast aside the empty boxes to make room. She surprises him, no easy feat, when she takes the knife and slices into the palm of her hand. Instantly the scent of blood permeates the surrounding air, Taro doesn't even blink, he hardly needs to feed anymore and has more than enough self control for this.

Taro sort of tunes out her chanting, his eyes focused on the circle of blood blooming at her feet. For surely that is where the power would manifest. The air inside the room begins to stir, the scent of magic thickening. His eyes flick back to the girl, just in time to see her smile. Then, she is thrown unceremoniously from the circle, banging into the wall directly behind her. The boy raises an eyebrow as he watches her regain her feet. Confused and slightly amused he moves towards her until they are face to face. "Are you alright?" He would have caught her, but at the time he had been unsure if her being thrown out of the circle was not all part of the ritual.

The ancestors were angry with him? Well, that wasn't surprising. Not truly. Having been alive for thousands of years, your bound to piss some people/beings off. He shrugs slightly, cocking his head to the side. "There could be lots of reasons. I wasn't always a benevolent being. Do you know which incident they are referring to?"Taro smiles, again it doesn't quite breach the stoicism of his features.
