East

The east side of the city is the very heart of Sacrosanct - it's unique skyline is a clash between modern sky rises and small Victorian-inspired storefronts. In the heart of downtown, the sleek colored glass buildings reign supreme though their old-world roots can be seen in the most peculiar places from the lamp post styled electric street light to the stone sidewalks. The old world architecture slowly returns the further from downtown you travel, however. It's here that magic thrives, it hums in every stone and can be felt in every breath. Often, newcomers to the city may become overwhelmed by such sensations but, eventually, it becomes an ever-present feeling that's hardly noticed.

He hated feeling vulnerable. He was used to being the daring one, the man most likely to get into a brawl over something petty because he never knew how to back down. And even when he knew he should, he would still take the punches until he blacked out cause what was the point of giving up? But encounters with these non-human beings was proving to be more than he could take. They weren't just a bully he could walk up to and see how it turned out. She could take a gun apart by looking at it and that little girl in the park...well, she literally drank his blood and giggled about it. Knowing he couldn't just fight it out with them made him feel off balance and very very vulnerable.

Yet the woman across from him seemed persistent in dragging all the supernatural chaos out into the open for him. He wanted nothing more than to close his eyes to the things he couldn't explain and wish them all away, like he could wisk Adelaide into a bubble made just for the two them. Of course, that was just a fool's dream, but he didn't think this chick would be so interested in un-blinding him. And that leer on her pouty lips was enough to make his back muscles twitch with the urge to run as far away as possible. She was definitely amused when he pulled his hand away, saying if she wanted to fuck him, he'd know it. He smirked a bit at that. "Would you telepath it to me?"

It was second nature to be a smart ass and the minute the words left his lips, he internally slapped himself for his own idiocy. Now, what if she could actually read his thoughts or something? She asked if he'd rather know what he was dealing with and he couldn't help but scoff and cross his arms. "I'd rather just not deal with it, at all, actually. But since you're being so generous today, guess I'll settle for door number one." She went on to say there was no going back and he might as well jump right in. He sighed and put his elbows on the table, leaning toward her a little. "Okay, then, go for it. What living nightmares are we talking about here? Witches, vampires, werewolves...am I missing anyone? Is Chupacabra real? Does the Jeepers Creepers dude really get fresh eyes every twenty three years?"

His mind was in a whirl as he tried to think through every scary movie or fantasy tale he'd ever seen or read about. Were they all real or just a select few? Okay, so a part of him was curious. Apparently, he hit a nerve when he mentioned magic cause it was the first time their whole conversation that she did NOT look amused. Her eyes grew hard for a minute before she said she definitely didn't do magic tricks. Taylor tilted his head then, sure there was going to be more. Finally she smiled again, and before she even spoke, he knew he already missed the hard stare. Somehow the smile seemed to mean something worse was always coming. She finally admitted she could move things with her mind and turn into a crocodile. Wait...what?!

His eyes must have looked like a deer in the headlights look as he tried to process that. Finally, he scowled and shook his head, chuckling awkwardly. "Wait....a crocodile? So people don't just turn into wolves on the full moon? Can you pick what animal you turn into? Are you weak against silver bullets?" The questions spilled out of him as he leaned in a little more, trying to comprehend the crazy of turning into a reptile like it was nothing. He almost wanted to see....but then he knew he'd probably regret it. He miht just end up on the menu if that happened. The thought was enough to sober him for the moment and he leaned back in his chair with a nervous swallow, running a hand through his hair as he looked down, trying to process.
