East

The east side of the city is the very heart of Sacrosanct - it's unique skyline is a clash between modern sky rises and small Victorian-inspired storefronts. In the heart of downtown, the sleek colored glass buildings reign supreme though their old-world roots can be seen in the most peculiar places from the lamp post styled electric street light to the stone sidewalks. The old world architecture slowly returns the further from downtown you travel, however. It's here that magic thrives, it hums in every stone and can be felt in every breath. Often, newcomers to the city may become overwhelmed by such sensations but, eventually, it becomes an ever-present feeling that's hardly noticed.

I'm more alive than I've ever been

It had taken nearly everything within her to piece together the broken shards of herself for this evening. Pieces that were jagged and uneven, squeezed together by the skin-tight leather of her pants into something that gave all of the appearances of normality. She appeared as herself, better- perhaps- than she had in a long while, cosmetic shadows painted just so to accent cerulean eyes, a nearly ethereal shimmer cast by the waterfall of crimson hair cascading from her ponytail. She looked like Isolt, surely, but no puzzle could ever truly be complete when a piece was missing.

And a significant piece of her had indeed been lost. Leaving behind something... lesser.

The redheaded vampire lingers for a long moment, her features cast in the blue light of her mobile after having alerted Harley to her arrival. She knows that Damon lingers in the vehicle behind her as surely as she knows that he will hardly take his leave of her until she is well and truly inside the establishment and beyond the spindly, reaching fingers of the setting sun. He had been loathe to allow her even a moment's absence from his sight since the 'incident' of her near-suicide; truly, the only thing staying his forced chaperoning of the evening's festivities was the faith, however tremulous, that he places in Harley's metaphorical hands. Isolt knows that he has informed Harley of her companion's transgression, even if neither of them would rightly admit to having discussed it. It was their own little secret, a blasphemous thing to keep swept away into the dark corners of their collective sub-conscious. Out of sight, but never completely out of mind.

It is with the weight of her husband's eyes upon her that the redheaded vampire finally emerges herself wholly into the venue that, despite the span of time until the beginning of the show, is already playing host to a not-inconsiderable crowd. Despite this it is apparent that she need not busy herself with any attempt to find her companions, a quite cherished moniker blasted from across the room to herald the arrival of the evening's star. Before she knows it Isolt is whisked into the air in an embrace that, to her surprise, nearly draws tears to her eyes for the joy that it conveys. Embraces such as these had been an exceedingly rare thing in this sprawling afterlife... so many of the mortal order finding the chilled pallor of her skin to be a more than sufficient excuse to keep their hands well away from her. She relishes the warmth that radiates from him, her own arms encircling him for a moment before her feet are once again returned to the floor.

His question sees her offer a faux-exasperated laugh, her left hand rising to reveal the platinum band and the quite exquisite stone that accents it. "Still very married, sorry Thumper," she coos, patting his back affectionately as the pair turn towards the dark-haired woman. "One day,, he quips, shaking a finger at each woman in turn. "One day you'll realize that you're crazy about me. Both of you." The good-natured grin that passes over her angelic features is dampened somewhat by the suggestion of a wince that pinches at the corners of her azure eyes for the question that she senses may follow. Though Jason does not make mention of her pregnancy, nor does he query after her child... it is doubtful that he would have even known of it, but the apprehension lingers within her heart all the same. It is not only for this reason that the crimson-haired vampire is grateful for the idle banter flung haphazardly betwixt her two companions. It presses against the icy veneer of her agony and, slowly, begins to release her somewhat from the hefty chains that sorrow has placed upon her.

Her eyes flick between the two of them before she interjects, a sly smile slithering its way unto her lips. "It's not all doom and gloom, but it sure as hell isn't all glitz and glamor, that's for damn sure." She winks at him in a cheeky attempt to curtail the very significant gloom that churns within the confines of her stomach. "Such sage wisdom from the day-vamp!" She relaxes somewhat, as much as she is capable of at the moment, into the witty exchange of her friends... perhaps just for this night it would be possible for her to cast off the trappings of sorrow that buckled the curve of her spine with the immensity of its heft and embrace wholly the thrill promised by the evening. Perhaps... if she would only give herself over to it.

"I'm so down. Show me how to party like a rockstar."
