East

The east side of the city is the very heart of Sacrosanct - it's unique skyline is a clash between modern sky rises and small Victorian-inspired storefronts. In the heart of downtown, the sleek colored glass buildings reign supreme though their old-world roots can be seen in the most peculiar places from the lamp post styled electric street light to the stone sidewalks. The old world architecture slowly returns the further from downtown you travel, however. It's here that magic thrives, it hums in every stone and can be felt in every breath. Often, newcomers to the city may become overwhelmed by such sensations but, eventually, it becomes an ever-present feeling that's hardly noticed.

Once upon a time, her name had been uttered by teenagers all over Asia as her pop career rose to unprecedented heights. Once upon a time, her world was shattered as abruptly as it had begun, destroying the girl's spirit and leaving her in an all encompassing darkness she was still trying to orientate herself within. How quickly things could change! Chizue was quick to brush off those thoughts of the past, however, as she insisted that she was hardly anyone of note anymore. Her present company, however, was unwilling to simply let the matter lay to rest. A visible frown darkened his features even as he insisted that she was not being entirely truthful with him. After all, as he pointed out, he had been talking to someone for the last hour. Someone was clearly not no one. Chizue rolled her eyes at the circular logic, the young woman shaking her head as she sighed, only to declare without missing a beat, "Maybe you are." How quickly her moods shifted! From joyful to despondent to sarcastic with but a breath in between. The teenager she'd eaten was wreaking havoc upon her feelings and yet, Chizue was eternally left simply riding those bits of life she stole.

She rose to her feet, trying eagerly to change the topic as Chizue suggested occupying their time with investigating the displays beyond the large glass window of the store fronts. She watched as his hand reached up to rub at the back of his neck in a clear display of uncertainty, only to reluctantly agree. The last thing Chizue expected, however, was his admittance that he didn't shop for himself. After all, even at the height of her success, Chizue still bought herself her own clothes. A puzzled look crossed her features, her head tilted to the side as she regarded him, "Really?" She inquired, clearly not believing him. "Not even online?" While she knew well that men were not nearly as likely to enjoy the thrill of new clothing or owning a whole closet full of shoes, surely he shopped for something himself, didn't he? He rose to his feet, only to briefly mention his sister as he turned to leave his meal with his driver. While Chizue had been taught as a young girl not to pry, the teenager she'd eaten failed to have the same lesson instilled in her. "Does she live here? In Sacrosanct? Your sister, I mean?" She blurted out the very moment that Oliver joined her again. After all, it wasn't the first time that the businessman had mentioned this mysterious sibling, surely it was only natural to ask.

Nevertheless, Chizue fell into step beside him, her hands folded neatly in front of her as she wordlessly meandered through the mall, her gaze peering into the stores they passed and dancing across well dressed mannequins. She was hardly prepared for him to lean closer towards her, the scent of his cologne filling her nose. A soft squeak of surprise left her lips, the young girl jumping as she turned quickly towards him, "Ah! Uh....um...well, I saw a really nice peacoat over there..." She stuttered, gesturing back towards one of the stores they had passed. "Did you see anything that interested you....?"
