East

The east side of the city is the very heart of Sacrosanct - it's unique skyline is a clash between modern sky rises and small Victorian-inspired storefronts. In the heart of downtown, the sleek colored glass buildings reign supreme though their old-world roots can be seen in the most peculiar places from the lamp post styled electric street light to the stone sidewalks. The old world architecture slowly returns the further from downtown you travel, however. It's here that magic thrives, it hums in every stone and can be felt in every breath. Often, newcomers to the city may become overwhelmed by such sensations but, eventually, it becomes an ever-present feeling that's hardly noticed.

The stars in their orbits

Nadya's comfort level with Raven was slim and her trust was about the same level but the canine seemed intent on exercising her power to keep Nadya in the clinic. Nadya could have reciprocated, let the pain weasel into the curly-haired woman's head like a railroad spike to the brain, but she remained in check of her powers if only just barely. Her discomfort level at this point far outweighed any anger she had for being kept somewhere by someone who was for all intensive purposes below her in rank. Nadya's whole body prickled when Raven stepped in front of the door blocking the escape route and even placed her hand on the ruffled feline. "I may not be your Alpha but I am still above you and your assertiveness is starting to push the line." Nadya's utterance was barely above a whisper but held every ounce of warning.

It wasn't her style to start a fight in public view, even though it was only the nurse in the room with them; if she was she would have made a scene back in the bookstore. Instead Nadya shrugged her shoulder out from under Raven's touch only to have Raven replace it with clasping her hand. It was touch but at least in a less controlling position than the shoulder allowed. Nadya drifted back to the table and perched on the side but refused to lay down or lift her shirt anymore. She would listen. She would learn. Her attention moved back to the nurse and the screen that was frozen on the image of the two gray masses. "Fine." She muttered as the nurse quickly went back to the computer and rolled her fingers back on the round ball on the keyboard to backtrack what film had been captured. "The one on the right," The nurse indicated on the screen, "there, looks like going to be a little girl." Then she focused on the other and smiled softly, "The other is a little boy. You get to have the joys of raising both genders." Sure, lucky. At least they wouldn't be able to play any tricks or parent-trap stuff like identical twins.

"Great, twice as much stuff that I need now." Nadya sighed. The nurse continued on, smoothing right over the overwhelmed mother-to-be. "You should start on some pre-natal vitamins and increase your food intake from the good foods list. The twins look a bit small for the state of development that they're at. You should notice quite rapid growth soon. Our species has an excelerated pregnancy from the animal DNA interfering with the human DNA so you're due date should be in about two months." Nadya was trying to follow along but her mind was abuzz and it was really a lot of information she was having to absorb at once. The nurse was also handing Nadya lists and pamphlets on top of it which made it equally distracting. However, it was the last piece of paper that caused Nadya to freeze up.

It was a print-out picture of the screen with the two cuddled together with the name Tetradore atop and Boy and Girl appropriately labeled above each. It was easy to look away from a screen but not so much from a picture in her hands, further solidifying that she carried a part of the future of the Tetradore pack. Nadya's fingers gently grazed over the picture as she looked at it before her attention snapped back up. "Well, thanks for all the info. I'm good now. I'll uh, read all this over and get what I need." Nadya slid off the exam chair and glanced to Raven. "It's a library worth of information, we can go now so I can get started and get what I need." While Nadya stuffed all the other paperwork into her purse it was the picture that she kept clasped in her hand.
