East

The east side of the city is the very heart of Sacrosanct - it's unique skyline is a clash between modern sky rises and small Victorian-inspired storefronts. In the heart of downtown, the sleek colored glass buildings reign supreme though their old-world roots can be seen in the most peculiar places from the lamp post styled electric street light to the stone sidewalks. The old world architecture slowly returns the further from downtown you travel, however. It's here that magic thrives, it hums in every stone and can be felt in every breath. Often, newcomers to the city may become overwhelmed by such sensations but, eventually, it becomes an ever-present feeling that's hardly noticed.

Hold on to this lullaby; even when the music's gone

It is her stumbling that seeks to undo her now, just as her power had tried to do beforehand. She thinks that maybe if she kept herself away from the brink of darkness then it wouldn't try and claim her again. This is what causes her fear again, the darkness swallowing her, her body broken on the concrete until she comes to. Each time she has used it, she has dropped and awoken to new bruises. But it is his warmth that encircles her that causes her to brace herself against the woman, her hand placed on her shoulder to try and steady herself as her vision danced with spots again. "A diner?" She asks, her curiosity taking over again as her hand rubs over where the man had grabbed her, that throbbing a momentary pain to distract her from a more pressing matter. She is sure it is already bruising and when they make their way into the light she is looking down to assess it and to see that she was right.

It isn't quite the same as when she'd broken her arm, but she knew her body would heal it and no one would be the wiser. Instead, she is pulling the sleeve of the shirt down to cover the fingerprints that raised the flesh of her arm. She is only too eager to follow the woman towards this place called a diner, confident in her knowledge that it was a place for food. It is the fear of earlier that has her looking over her shoulder for the man, an assurance that he was following. As he is reaching for the door and they are moving inside she is still making sure of his presence as it shuts behind them.

She pauses inside the doorway, confusion at the multitude of scents is overwhelming and that fact that there were quite a few people inside was enough to cause her over-pregnant pause. She is moving ahead now, her fingers resting upon the other woman, her senses telling her that she is different and not wholly human like the others around them. She settles on the barstool between the two of them, ordering a hot chocolate (with whipped cream of course) before her attention is captured by Frost again. Why had she been walking this particular part of the city? "I have been exploring each night," she starts as the waitress returns with her drink and Claire is sticking her finger into the cream and licking it off before turning her attention back to them.

"I was reading about these places called 'bars' and they have music! I wanted to hear the music, but I have realized that this is a bad idea," She responds, her gaze shifting between the two of them, even his slight chastisement isn't enough to dampen her excitement over hearing the music. She turns her gaze to the other woman then, "Who are you?" She asks, convinced that the woman with the light just very well may be an angel in disguise.
