East

The east side of the city is the very heart of Sacrosanct - it's unique skyline is a clash between modern sky rises and small Victorian-inspired storefronts. In the heart of downtown, the sleek colored glass buildings reign supreme though their old-world roots can be seen in the most peculiar places from the lamp post styled electric street light to the stone sidewalks. The old world architecture slowly returns the further from downtown you travel, however. It's here that magic thrives, it hums in every stone and can be felt in every breath. Often, newcomers to the city may become overwhelmed by such sensations but, eventually, it becomes an ever-present feeling that's hardly noticed.

My Own Form Of CHAOS

I smirk as she says a man who hates cats has no business in her presence, saying they are a better judge of character than dogs and that she's something of a cat whisperer, I lean in to whisper conspiratorily.

"Then maybe you can sweet talk them into liking me cause they tend to just hiss and run the other way when I come in the room."

She must have a history of letting cats determine who she likes or doesn't like. I guess that doesn't bode well for me but it's nothing I can change. She seems surprised when I say that different species taste different. Of course I note the distaste in her eyes when I talk about werewolves. Does she not like the dog-like species either? I guess that shouldn't surprise me given her opinion about cats. I tilt my head, listening as she repeats my explanation about needing a taste for witch blood. When she calls humans hamburgers, I chuckle and shrug lightly.

"I usually just say walking blood bag but I guess hamburger works too."

She leans back in her chair, playing with her noodles and I start moving smoothly through my own food, savoring the flavor even though it's not the best in my book. It's all for politeness after all. She tells me that she's a bad sport on occasion but as she begins to name one, she comes up blank and I smirk again. I nod.

"Deal. I'll spring it on you when you least expect it."

I look around a little, watching the other people walking by before I glance back at her.

"So what brought you to Sacrosanct. Friends? Family? Or you just traveling through?"
