East

The east side of the city is the very heart of Sacrosanct - it's unique skyline is a clash between modern sky rises and small Victorian-inspired storefronts. In the heart of downtown, the sleek colored glass buildings reign supreme though their old-world roots can be seen in the most peculiar places from the lamp post styled electric street light to the stone sidewalks. The old world architecture slowly returns the further from downtown you travel, however. It's here that magic thrives, it hums in every stone and can be felt in every breath. Often, newcomers to the city may become overwhelmed by such sensations but, eventually, it becomes an ever-present feeling that's hardly noticed.

I keep going to the river to pray.

Willow had been put an alert after she had been attacked, it had really scared the girl showing her it was a real possibility that they could take her back to the hell hole. She had thought about dying her hair and changing her clothes style but knew it would be all useless, they could smell her from a mile away, damn vampires. The sun had come up a few hours ago and Willow had moved with it, coming out of hiding the minute it went up and set about her things. She had looked into getting a small apartment with the money she had taken from that bastard. She had even bought a new set of clean clothes, a pair of dark jeans and a long sleeved deep purple shirt. She had once again tied her long white hair up and placed her red bandana around it to hold it back from falling in her face.

The girl had heard of a quiet little coffee shop in the east parts of the town and had slowly made her way over, by the time she had stepped into the store it was just past noon. Willow smiled softly at the harsh and bitter smell of coffee, when she had been locked in that horrible place she would manage to sneak a cup or two while he was out doing whatever. IT had been something Willow looked forward too, her soft green eyes scanned the room as she slowly made her way to the counter and ordered a black coffee with sugar. She took a moment to look around and memorize the faces she saw, Willow always had a good memory and used it to her advantage at times like this. She jumped slightly when the woman handed her the coffee, Willow gave her a sheepish smile before paying the woman and wandering off to a seat in the corner.

Slowly she let her body slide into the chair as she set the coffee down her eyes still moving about the room, the last thing she needed was a vampire coming in here and trying to take her away again. She took a sip of the coffee and focused her attention on the tattoo's on her wrist, the slave bands he had forced on her all those years ago. She gently ran her fingers over them a sad expression on her face as she did, knowing she would have to find a way to cover them. She refused to be seen as nothing but a lowly slave anymore and the first step was getting rid of the bands.
