East

The east side of the city is the very heart of Sacrosanct - it's unique skyline is a clash between modern sky rises and small Victorian-inspired storefronts. In the heart of downtown, the sleek colored glass buildings reign supreme though their old-world roots can be seen in the most peculiar places from the lamp post styled electric street light to the stone sidewalks. The old world architecture slowly returns the further from downtown you travel, however. It's here that magic thrives, it hums in every stone and can be felt in every breath. Often, newcomers to the city may become overwhelmed by such sensations but, eventually, it becomes an ever-present feeling that's hardly noticed.

Alexander had always been a particularly clear headed sort of fellow. He made judgements based on rational thought and a complete absolute faith in the gods above. It was rare when emotions such as anger and hatred moved him but when they so managed to grasp his soul, Alexander had always made a point to see them through, regardless of the dramaticism that followed. Xerxes had been one such victim and frankly it appalled him that in this single feat he'd failed to see the man's death carried through. It was a mistake he would make a point to correct. And yet, despite his persistence to see Xerxes death by his own hand, Alexander hardly seemed perturbed by the man's verbal spar - his irritation was almost entirely unnoticeable, present only in the clenching of his fist. "It's funny you should say that Bessus...I seem to remember you wanting my empire...and yet your own people turned you over. Even in my death no one wanted poor, little Arataxerxes as a king." There was a small simper across his features as Alexander paused just long enough before adding, "Too bad you couldn't even begin to compare to your father."

His façade of placidity vanished almost entirely at the mention of his beloved Bucephalus. The equine was perhaps one of the few pushing points for the man, if only because of his rather intimate relationship with the horse. The two had some how been connected by soul - his loss had devastated the man enough so that centuries upon centuries later, Alexander still found himself slowly reaching down for the dagger hidden within his boot. His blue-green gaze remained steadfast upon the man that stared down at him, fully intent on giving into the challenge that was thrust upon him. Alexander had no problem putting the man in his place, even if it was momentarily before his death. Unfortunately for Alexander, the man hardly had a chance to carry out his plan before Robin burst between them, forcing the darker skinned man to settle down. A scowl marred Alexander's masculine features, his eyes narrowing ever so slightly at the man's exclamation that he'd been out of battle for near a millennium. How little Besus seemed to know him - how very like the man to underestimate him. It'd seemed as if centuries had taught him nothing.

"I don't want a different horse." Alexander retorted quite firmly. After all, Alexander wasn't in this to join their rag tag band of men. This was a reconnaissance mission and nothing more - although perhaps he might ensure that their retrieval of the necklace included the strangling of Xerxes. Never the less, Alexander hardly bothered beating around the bush, his gaze only briefly tearing away from his advisory, "I'm looking for something for the council. My search led me here." He responded simply enough, purposefully throwing around the word 'council' if only for the power that it would hold here. It hardly mattered that the council had or hadn't sent him - after all they surely deserved to do something for him once after all the shit they'd put him through since his fall into the arms of their brother hood. Quite frankly, Alexander's patience for the group was beginning to wear thin.
