East

The east side of the city is the very heart of Sacrosanct - it's unique skyline is a clash between modern sky rises and small Victorian-inspired storefronts. In the heart of downtown, the sleek colored glass buildings reign supreme though their old-world roots can be seen in the most peculiar places from the lamp post styled electric street light to the stone sidewalks. The old world architecture slowly returns the further from downtown you travel, however. It's here that magic thrives, it hums in every stone and can be felt in every breath. Often, newcomers to the city may become overwhelmed by such sensations but, eventually, it becomes an ever-present feeling that's hardly noticed.

i used to rule the world

seas would rise when i gave the word

So rarely were the wee hours of the daybreak his to lame claim to, not since the grand opening of the bustling cafe. The loss of such dawn, however, was not greatly lamented. The daylight had always been his preferred hours. Electricity was still a relatively new addition to his life time, it's invention having only taken place in the two hundred years. The light streaming through his large windows was enough for his eyelashes to flutter open without the use of one of those jarring alarms. It was only half an hour later that Alexander found himself down stairs with the world slowly waking around him like a flower unfolding just for his benefit. The line around his cafe started slow - as it always did, providing himself and his barista on duty just the briefest of moments to wipe the sleep from their eyes and relish in a single cup of coffee before the morning rush chose to hit the small, sleepy, cafe. The morning rush hit them with the same ferocity as it always did, the duo maneuvering through their little stand in an almost fluid dance, serving their customer's orders with a particular sort of finesse.

The line was only just beginning to die down when the bell on the front door rang, the noise drawing the blue-green gaze of the Dark Hunter. The man paused immediately, his eyebrows furrowed ever so slightly as he stared at the female that stepped into his cafe. His own affinity was an ever present force, his gaze almost searching her feminine features as if trying to grasp something that was just out of is reach. Alexander course sense she was something otherworldly, though what he was entirely unable to tell. He understood in a rather abstract fashion that she was somehow inhibiting him from being to detect her species and that alone caused a brief hint of frustration to wiggle it's way across his masculine features. His muscles tensed, entirely on guard if only because there was so little that was unknown for Alexander anymore. The dark hunter's gaze remained steadfast upon her as she approached his counter, the man leaned against the front of his counter in an effort to remain entirely lackadaisical even if the man was far from it.

"New here?" Alexander inquired with a brief effort to appear social. It was rare when the dark hunter truly took interest in his customers with the natural exception of his regulars. It would appear natural that he would inquire, wouldn't it? "Can I interest you in something?" He inquired, his head tilting to the side ever so slightly as he continued to study her. It was so long since he had a puzzle he couldn't solve and that alone was enough to make him put for the effort that had once characteristized him as being so charismatic to begin with.
